Your role at Baxter:

As a Senior Technician, Automation This is where you'll elaborate the programming flow and develop this programming in PLC or automated controls. You'ill perform panel integration for automated solutions, and you'll examine, diagnose and correct malfunctions related to automated equipment.

The automation team is a department of service, identification and implementation of opportunities and improvements. From automation, we seek to identify solutions to autonomous processes, with failure modes that impact the quality and productivity of the site.

What you'll be doing:

  • Must develop design details, modifications of components for manufacturing machines. Prepare or review specifications of blueprints of mechanical and electrical components of machines.
  • Develop electrical design, schematics, and drawings in AutoCAD.
  • Interpret mechanical design drawings for electrical requirements (e.g. SolidWorks).
  • Must design logical sequence of any programmable controller. On new automated machine must be capable of designing pneumatic, electrical & mechanical system.
  • Must support production lines to maintain machines and manufacturing equipment working in excellent conditions.
  • Disassemble equipment or machinery, disconnect controls and remove defective parts so they may be repaired or substituted and perform preventive maintenance according to established standards.
  • Develop new electrical logic sequential program and mechanical design to fulfill the goal on the new machines.

What you'll bring

  • Technologist or bachelor’s degree Engineering (Automation / Electrical / Electronic / Mechatronic / BSEE BSME) or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in the automation industry or related.
  • Design/Drafting Tools AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Programming Logic Controllers (PLC) (e.g. Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
  • Configuring and designing HMI/OIT systems (e.g. Allen Bradley, National Instruments, Maple Systems).
  • Familiar with Industry Standards UL, CE & Vision Systems (e.g. Cognex, Keyence).
  • Familiar with various Motion Controllers/Actuators (e.g. IAI, Yasakawa).
  • Experience and skill in troubleshooting control system issues.
  • Able to read, write, speak and understand English at a good comprehensive level.
