What you’ll be doing:
Leads and manages identified / approved projects from concept to execution, using appropriate tools to ensure a robust
implementation efficiently reaching the original deliverables of the project. Provides business and technical leadership for
NPI/NPD & Sustain Engineering Indicatives. Communicate constantly with senior plant management, R&D Program
Managers, Sustain Engineering, Packaging Engineering, PDO’s, GPO’s and other stakeholders.
TAREAS Y RESPONSABILIDADES (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES):
1. With minimal guidance, acts as project lead by scheduling and leading small- and large-scale projects
through the planning, execution, and implementation stage. This includes constructing detailed, accurate
project schedules, interfacing with development groups and technical support groups, and communicating
issues/delays to project team and/or program management representatives.
2. Includes special projects including those coming from Manufacturing Strategy, Corporate R&D, Sustain
Engineering, Packaging Engineering, Special Programs and plant new areas, new product introduction,
legislation/regulatory requirements update and transfer.
3. Identify and prepare the required documentation for submission of projects, including detailed descriptions
of the operation, plans and systems and provide the necessary monitoring to ensure approval.
4. This should include business case preparation, project tracker and Gantt Charts, tier/accountability
ownership and appropriate escalation.
5. Assist on the continuous improvement activities related to packaging operations, materials and equipment
problems (opportunities).
6. Leads the Project Management Office (PMO).
7. Participate Actively in the Plant Strategy Planning Process and Subsequence Action Plan & Goals
8. Create, develop, and supervise the Project & Packaging Engineering Team. Ensure to hire and retain the
best talents for the department.
9. Organize thoroughly all projects and status in a daily basis and at least twice a month review with Projects
& Packaging Engineers projects using Project Review Board Meetings
10. Works under minimal supervision to identify manufacturing problems and respond to production requests
for assistance. Use Project Management principles and fundamentals to all product and processes
changes.
11. Coordinate/supervises engineers, multifunctional groups and interplants teams by gathering support
activities associated with everything related to the project submission process.
12. Perform and assists in the implementation of appropriate process or product designs, changes, materials
selection and manufacturing techniques. Perform process or product validations using Local or Divisional
engineering resources.
13. Analyse processes to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to ensure benefits /
savings for the operation.
14. Implementation could include and is not limited to: validation of products & packaging, processes and new
technologies, FOC implementation, learning curves and manufacturing ramp up coordination making sure
plant indicators are supported.
15. Submit change projects, Proposed Initiatives (PI) and Change Control per Trackwise following the
procedures.
16. Work with validation of systems, equipment and processes using objective evidence to ensure that a
process consistently produces products that meet predetermined specifications.
17. Manage Capital and Non-Capital Projects related to but not limited to Design Transfers, New Product
Introductions, Product Changes, Packaging Changes, Processes Improvements & VIPs.
18. Assure that Projects follow up and Operating Mechanics used BOS Tools and Project Management basic
principles.
19. Participate with the implementation of corrective actions arising from customer complaints.
20. Observes all company and regulatory EHS requirements.
21. Learn and practice basic ergonomic principles to reduce job-related discomfort and injuries.
22. Identify and evaluate all risks and environmental aspects of the area of responsibility. Able to recognize
new risks.
23. Ensure that personnel under his/her supervision are trained and know the risks and environmental aspects
of the area.
What you'll bring
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical, Electronics or Mechanical.
Six Sigma Certification desire
Lean Manufacturing Certification desire
PMP or related certification desire
(6+) years of experience in related field required.
Prefer experience with TQM methods (e.g. "six sigma") Display a solid technical understanding of engineering principles
and procedures (e.g. CAD and its application or scheduling a series of technical tasks utilizing software-based tools.
Understand and articulate how own role ties within function or discipline. Demonstration application of engineering
principles on individual/small projects. Uses computer applications to do process analysis. Excellent problem-solving
techniques. Excellent interpersonal skills. Six-sigma Engineering considered a plus. Knowledge of Design Control
Requirements. Knowledge of GMP, FDA, OSHA, QLP. Some traveling required.
Bilingual (Spanish and English) Oral and Writing.
