Your role at Baxter
This is Where you Leads and manages identified / approved projects from concept to execution, using appropriate tools to ensure a robust implementation efficiently reaching the original deliverables of the project.

What you'll be doing
- Leads as SME by providing systems and solutions for new and existing applications, with the aim of satisfying the needs of our internal and external customers. · Includes special projects including those coming from Manufacturing Strategy, Corporate R&D, Sustain Engineering, Special Programs and plant new areas, new product introduction, legislation/regulatory requirements update and transfer.
- Identify and prepare the required documentation for submission of projects, including detailed descriptions of the operation, plans, budget estimations and provide the necessary monitoring to ensure approval. · This should include business case preparation, project tracker and Gantt Charts, tier/accountability ownership and appropriate escalation.
- Coordinate by leading less experienced engineers. Set technical strategy for extrusion and molding technologies to ensure implementation of new process in the facility and the continuous improvements of these technologies.
- 4. Design and interprets complex experimental studies intended to provide supporting data and solve technical issues of projects and implemented processes.
- Analyse processes to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to ensure benefits / savings for the operation.
- Implementation could include and is not limited to: validation of products, processes and new technologies, FOC implementation, learning curves and manufacturing ramp up coordination making sure BSC plant indicators are supported.
- Submit change projects, Proposed Initiatives (PI) and Change Control per Track wise following the procedures.
- Work with validation of systems, equipment and processes using objective evidence to ensure that a process consistently produces products that meet predetermined specifications.
- Participate with the implementation of corrective actions arising from customer complaints.
- Observes all company and regulatory EHS requirements.
- Learn and practice basic ergonomic principles to reduce job-related discomfort and injuries.
- Identify and evaluate all risks and environmental aspects of the area of responsibility. Able to recognize new risks.
- Ensure that personnel under his/her supervision are trained and know the risks and environmental aspects of the area.
- Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical demands requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary Work. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible.
What you'll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical, Electronics or Mechanical. Six Sigma Certification desire
- Lean Manufacturing Certification desire
- 5 – 10 years experience in related field required (extrusion, molding, process engineering)
- Bilingual (Spanish and English) Oral and Writing.
- Prefer experience with TQM methods (e.g. "six sigma") Display a solid technical understanding of engineering principles and procedures (e.g. CAD and its application or scheduling a series of technical tasks utilizing software-based tools. Understand and articulate how own role ties within function or discipline. Demonstration application of engineering principles on individual/small projects. Uses computer applications to do process analysis. Excellent problem-solving techniques. Excellent interpersonal skills. Six-sigma Engineering considered a plus. Knowledge of Design Control Requirements. Knowledge of GMP, FDA, OSHA, QLP. Some traveling required
