Summary of Responsibilities

We are currently looking for energetic, hard-working Filling Machine Setup MH to work full-time permanent on our Midnight shift (Sunday to Thursday 23:00-7:00) at our Alliston facility.

The Filling Machine Setup MH assumes the responsibilities of setting up the Filling line and troubleshooting the process as the Line is running.This also includes ensuring the Line has the material, equipment and staffing needed to run the daily schedule.The Material Handler is a key person in the Filling team for their Line.

Due to the nature of our business, Baxter follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) which requires our employees to focus on cleanliness and contamination control. Other aspects of GMP that must be observed are no makeup or jewelry in the production areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Repair, setup & adjust and be able to maintain equipment to operate per spec.

  • Responsible for trouble shooting and minor repairs of Printers, Filling machines, Emplex, APF

  • Set up and tear down / cleaning of Filling Equipment (piping, nozzles, counters, scale, etc).

  • Calculate the solution volumes and bag counts for the line.

  • Perform cleaning and sanitization. Move trucks and material as needed.

  • Perform the line clearance process as required.

  • Ensuring the line has the material, equipment and staffing needed to run the daily schedule.

  • Assisting on the line as needed to help the process run smoothly and effectively.

  • Ensuring material and parts flow smoothly in the process. Substitute for the Supervisor in their absence.

  • Perform Filling duties as assigned.

  • Performing all hourly weigh checks and documenting in infinity.

Job Requirements

  • Successful completion of High School diploma or GED required (Proof will be requested)

  • Must pass ergonomic assessment to ensure ability to perform bonafide essential job duties

  • Experience doing repetitive tasks

  • Manufacturing/Quality experience in a GMP environment

  • Experience in food or manufacturing industry

  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment (experience working in an assembly line setting is preferred)

  • Flexibility to weekends

  • Positive attitude, and an ability to work in a team setting with a focus on quality assurance and attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated good attendance in present position

  • Demonstrated good performance & good quality in present position

  • Demonstrated good attitude, utilizing Baxter’s Shared Commitments

  • Flexibility to work overtime as required.

  • Experience in Trouble shooting mechanical problems.

  • Demonstrated problem solving skills.

  • Experience in working effectively both independently, and as part of a team.

  • Proven ability to be proactive and self-motivated on the job.

  • Ability to handle multiple and conflicting priorities.

  • There is a high degree of mechanical aptitude and creativity in the execution of this function. Must be able to pass the ERGO testing due to the physical nature of the job

  •  Equipment and tools used: piping, nozzles, counters, scale, hand cart, System AS400, BMTS, EBR
