Your role at Baxter

As the RFP and Contracts Manager is responsible for regional contract and RFP management for all consumable, equipment and service contracts and RFPs.  The Associate RFP and Contracts Manager will work with key business partners, primarily Sales, Marketing, Pricing, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Logistics, and Legal, to ensure successful end-to-end management of all RFPs/RFQs/RFIs and Contracts as well as providing full management for RFPs/RFQs/RFIs and Contracts with professional application of project management skills, as well as engaging in the strategy of the deal providing recommendations, statistics, and any sort of specialized support to stakeholders. You will engage in Request for Proposals (RFP), Request for Information (RFI), and Tender responses supporting all levels of stakeholders till completion of the submission. You will take full responsibility for the contracts and request for proposals under it's umbrella acting diligently in accordance with the processes in place.   

What you'll be doing

  • Lead the development, implementation, maintenance, negotiation, and execution of customer contracts, including new agreements, renewals, resigns, amendments, capital, consumable, lease, quote, and extension contracts.
  • Serve as the contract subject matter expert by developing contractual language, assessing requested changes to standard terms, managing terms and conditions reviews with Legal, and ensuring Baxter's interests are protected during internal and external negotiations.
  • Strategically manage the contract calendar and contract lifecycle, ensuring timely renewals and resigns while identifying and escalating risks when appropriate.
  • Act as project manager for contract resigns, RFPs, and RFIs, including organizing kickoff and status meetings, coordinating cross-functional stakeholders, assigning requirements, and managing multiple responses under tight timelines.
  • Apply expertise in Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs) and customer buying groups to support contract strategy, pricing decisions, and business objectives.
  • Lead the preparation and management of agreements, contracts, and pricing quotations while ensuring alignment with business standards and customer requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with Baxter policies, procedures, approval authorities, contractual processes, applicable laws and regulations, and internal controls, including SOX requirements.
  • Support broader Contracts and Pricing initiatives, including grant policy compliance, contract technology enhancements, business intelligence tools, contract repositories, system improvements, and workflow optimization.

What you'll bring

  • Bilingual (English/French) with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration required; specialization in Contracts, Pricing, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in Contract Management, Pricing, Sales Support, and/or RFP Management; healthcare industry experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment, managing competing priorities and collaborating with diverse stakeholders, including senior leadership and customers.
  • Strong business acumen, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail, with the ability to assess complex situations and make sound decisions.
  • Excellent organization, time management, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently and with limited supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with JD Edwards and Cognos is considered an asset.

We understand that compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated salary range for this position is $98,560 - $147,840 CAD annually, which reflects base salary as well as estimated target payout under the Management Incentive Compensation Plan. Individual pay will be determined based upon skills, expertise and experience, and the incentive, which is contingent upon company and individual performance outcomes.
