The Accounting Manager ECEMEA is fully responsible for selected A2R (Account to Report) process in the ECEMEA Accounting CoE including supporting business in the Middle East and Africa, Eastern Central Europe, including the implementation, control and maintenance of all country non-Business related processes, closing, reporting (US GAAP, Statutory, SoX) and controlling activities.

Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Support of business transformation in selected countries, JDE implementation, external accounting and 3PL services transformation after JDE and satellite systems implementation,

  • Implementation of transformation project strategy,

  • Standardization of accounting processes between individual countries, identification of good practices and their implementation by individual team members while maintaining the necessary information for the purposes of tax reporting requirements and in Local GAAP,

  • Accounting and reporting in accordance with US GAAP, month closing and reporting,

  • Standardization of processes between individual countries, identification of good practices and their implementation by individual team members while maintaining the necessary information for the purposes of tax reporting requirements and in Local GAAP,

  • Optimization of team work, including manual journal entries (JE), preparation, checking, acceptance and ongoing explanation of differences in reconciliations (Reconciliations), optimization of the month closing calendar aimed at carrying out correct procedures and financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP,

  • Building a team of experts ensuring uniform processes for individual processes and balance sheet items,

  • Providing professional and timely support for business in all locations, including making payments, tax and Local GAAP reporting as well as timely audits without delays resulting from team work,

  • Leading, employing, developing and providing feedback as well as setting directions in the local Finance team,

  • Cooperation with SSC in support in the Region, in particular with the departments AP, ICO, AR, FA, GL and Treasury and COE in the field of exchange of experience and implementation of good practices,

  • Introducing full compliance of business practices and internal control environment in adapting to corporate and local policies and regulations as well as the SarbanesOxley Act,

  • Introduction and verification of compliance with internal control procedures in the area of ​​Finance,

  • Accounting Manager ECEMEA will be the person responsible for implementation and compliance with acceptance levels in individual countries of the Region,

  • Minimizing the risk of non-compliance with SOX control, open reporting of problems, timely removal of non-compliance detected by the audit to the extent agreed with the ECEMEA Controller,

  • Understanding and explaining deviations regarding changes in balance sheet items, P&L, CF, TP review or effective tax kit for Baxter AG and local reports of individual companies in the Region,

  • Implementing or supporting additional projects and other activities indicated and agreed with the ECEMEA Controller,

  • Implementation of Policies and processes,

  • Responsible for dedicated cross-functional process improvements and projects.


  • University degree in Accounting, Applied Economics or similar level gained through experience with minimum level of graduate,

  • CPA, ACCA or equivalent certification in Accounting is a plus,

  • Knowledge in the field of project management (preferably DMAIC, Prince2 or Agile certification) is a plus,

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Accounting, Accounting Process Transformation/Optimization, Audit, Controlling, US GAAP and Local GAAP Reporting, Tax Compliance, IT systems implementation, SOX, internal/external control in cross-country environment,

  • Knowledge of SOX and internal control tools,

  • Very good computer skills, knowledge of integrated accounting systems in the field of use (e.g. JDE, SAP, SUN),

  • Preferred experience with financial data consolidation tools (e.g. Hyperion or other),

  • Good knowledge of the internal control environment,

  • Developed interpersonal skills,

  • Experience in managing people,

  • Analytical skills,

  • Ability to solve problems and make decisions,

  • Willingness to travel on business,

  • Process optimization and project management player,

  • Fluent Polish and English is a must.
