The A2R Process Transformation Tax Manager reports to the A2R GPO.  The role will be responsible for overseeing the wing-to-wing standardization of a process inclusive of automation and stand-up of any tool. 

The role will be viewed as the focal for Tax processes, respectively.  Primary responsibility in working with Regional finance teams in defining and standing up the process.  The role is also responsible with teaming with IT and other functional colleagues in the stand-up of new interfaces, tools, reporting with goal of removing/reducing manual journal entries and non-value add work.

The role will also help develop and monitor key process operational metrics and partners with Regional teams, Global / Regional IT colleagues, and Global and extended global network of SMEs to support end-to-end process governance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the standardization and optimization of VAT process to form a Global Standard

  • Partner with A2R GPO, regional Shared Services and COE Site Leads and Regional Senior Management teams, and operational SME network, PMO, IT, and other stakeholder groups to implement process improvement

  • Help identify automation opportunities (including RPA) and partner with the IT team and Operational Excellence team to accelerate technology adoption and process digitalization

  • Oversee the stand-up of a standard process from wing to wing (troubleshoot issues, resolve, define process (SOP), test, and execute)

  • Determine required governance within defined standard process

  • Deliver productivity gains and improve process functionality and efficiency

  • Define metrics to measure success


  • Leadership & Strategic thinking

  • Ability to identify areas which are subject to G2S differences

  • Comprehensive understanding on the local requirements about documentation (filing ready/audit ready)

  • Comprehensive understanding of key VAT developments worldwide

  • Working with business and wider tax teams to develop centralized process and role functions across organization to complete VAT requirements respectively

  • Oversee the Intrastat project

  • Deep understanding of core business processes

  • Demonstrated ability to leverage continuous improvement (CI) philosophies, approaches, and tools

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and solve problems in an unstructured environment

  • Self-starter with a commitment to meet deadlines - strong engagement to perform activities identified in the project plan and lead to completion on time and meet the Key Milestone deadlines of the project

  • Strong ability to positively influence others in a team environment

  • Experience with digital tool and technologies

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills - report out the key achievements, challenges, and next steps on a weekly basis to the A2R GPO working team and Biz regional leadership team

  • Excellent understanding of tax law

  • Fluent English - oral and written

Education and/or Experience:

  • Oracle & Workiva experience

  • Previous in-house experience within a multinational business

  • 7+ years of experience in global, indirect tax transactions (VAT/GST), with a public accounting firm or in industry

  • Chartered Accountant (or equivalent)

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
