About Baxter’s Acute Therapies Global Business Unit

  • The Acute Therapies GBU is focused on advancing our vision of innovating in critical care to give every patient the opportunity to recover.  We are reinventing who we are in this space and investing in the business to get our innovative products into more intensive care units (ICU) in more hospitals and to expand our presence across the critical care continuum, including into diagnostics and monitoring.

  • Intensive care is a demanding environment where saving lives is a daily reality. Here, no two patients are alike, their conditions are complex and evolving, and clinicians must manage multiple pathologies, therapies, and challenges. That's why Baxter is dedicated to serving the needs of the ICU community with a comprehensive portfolio of blood purification and fluid management products for therapies supporting multiple organs: kidney (CRRT), blood, lungs and liver.

Position Summary

  • As a critical member of/contributor to Baxter’s Global Acute Therapies team, you will help develop/execute product and marketing strategies for Baxter’s Acute Therapies Global Business Unit, with an emphasis on Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) and other ancillary, organ support therapies.

  • This role is both technical and business facing with a focus on developing our growing Acute Digital Health and Connectivity portfolio, including launch/support of healthcare-software, digital-health applications, device connectivity, partnership-engagement, and customer-focused service strategy.

  • The successful candidate is a self-starter, equal measures analytical/creative, able to influence without authority and comfortable in a leadership role. The role requires experience with all aspects of the product management discipline. This would include the high-level steps of identifying product vision, strategy, roadmaps, and product specifications to the more tactical-like development of Go to Market strategies, global downstream support, and brand development.

Critical Responsibilities

  • Business and product lead for Baxter's Digital Health development teams

  • Support development of Baxter’s Acute Therapies Digital Health product/service roadmap across multiple platforms

  • Develop/deliver digital proof of concepts (POC), proof of value (POV), or products / services that tap into key user and business needs

  • Create global and regional level Go-to-Market plans that drive core business strategy and lead to global, regional, and country level business success

  • Effectively communicate value proposition, differentiators and positioning at a global scale and empower downstream partners to do the same

  • Ensure Voice of Customer (VOC) and strategic focus is maintained during all aspects of product management

  • Leads and influences without authority to drive cross functional partners towards project success.

  • Serves as the direct line of communication between your product and Baxter across functions, leadership, and customers

  • Success in development and launch of regulated / healthcare software – familiar with agile and scrum methodologies, specification creation, analytics, vendor management, and device / software integration.

  • Uses data and instinct to uncover VOC’s and communicate/receive buy-in from upstream and downstream partners 

  • Proven history of developing elegant solutions to tough, complex, or ambiguous problems

  • High energy team player comfortable working in a multicultural/global environment, building strong relationships with business and cross-functional team members

  • Ability to develop/execute marketing communication, messaging, and branding campaigns.

  • Familiar with global cybersecurity and data privacy requirements such as HIPAA, GDPR, and related policies

  • Global travel up to 30%

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required; MS/MBA preferred. STEM education preferred (e.g., biomedical engineering, computer science).

  • 5+ years related experience, in medical device, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, digital health, or healthcare-oriented software preferred, including at least 3+ years of direct product management

  • Experience in service development, critical care, or ICU focused therapies is highly valued

  • Experience with software development methods and tools (JIRA, Agile, AWS or cloud native services, etc.) is highly valued

  • Experience working with SaaS/PaaS/IaaS platforms is highly valued. Familiarity with Machine Learning (ML) / Artificial Intelligence (AI) considered a plus.

This position can be located remotely within the US, except for Colorado.
