Summary

TheSenior Calibration Technician in QualityControldevelops/executes analytical instrument qualification protocols and Preventive Maintenance/Performance Qualification procedures. Additionally, they alsoperformmaintenance, testing, troubleshooting, calibration and repair on a variety of analytical equipment and instruments for laboratory equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities(these are primary responsibilities of the role and the incumbent will perform other duties as assigned)

  • Ensure timely Metrology support is provided toProduction, Incoming Quality Control,QC Chemistry, QC Microbiology, QC Critical, and othercurrent Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)production areas whereanalytical instrumentsare deployed

  • Calibrateadvancedanalytical instruments for conformance to established government, commercial, and specification standards.

  • Develop and execute validation protocolsDesign Qualification /Installation Qualification/Operational Qualification/Performance Qualification)for analytical instruments.

  • Perform standard operating procedures(SOPs)on new and existing instrumentation.

  • Responsible for instrument re-certification with outside standard laboratories, which includes performing incoming inspections and documentation reviews on these instruments.

  • Write, revise and review SOPs.

  • Participate in continuous improvement functions(Lean initiatives), which increase efficiency, solve problems, generate cost savings and improve quality.

  • Perform/assist in internal assessments by collecting and analyzing accurate, objective evidence regarding risks and their magnitude.

  • Serve as a technical resource for process and/or product development activities.

Qualifications (Education and Experience)

  • High School diplomaor GEDrequired. Associates Degree in a technical discipline preferred.

  • Minimum 2 years experience inmetrologyrelated fieldrequired.

  • Experience in a regulated environment preferred.

  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and the ability to use enterprise software (examples include:  JDE, BPLM, Trackwise, etc.)

Physical / Safety Requirements

  • Must be able to lift, push/pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.

  • Mustbe able towear personal protective equipment.

  • May be required to handlelaboratory chemicals.

  • Work with pressurized equipment, hot surfaces.

  • May be required to work inconfined space.

  • Must be able to gown qualify for Grade-C access.

  • Duties may require overtime work, including nights and weekends.

  • Use of hands and fingers to manipulate office equipment is required.

  • Position may require sitting or standing for long periods of time.
