The R&D lab at Bardy Diagnostics is currently seeking a full-time regular-employee Sr. Firmware Engineer to join the Engineering team at our Bellevue headquarters. Contribute to new product development, and work with and learn from accomplished and interesting engineers with a strong history of successful cardiac monitoring product development.
The right person will have a strong curiosity about how things work, has a history of taking things apart, likes learning, and does embedded projects on their own. The main area of contribution will be firmware development, but strong HW debugging skills will be an asset. PCB/PCBA design experience, while not required, is a complementary skill for this role.

Responsibilities
Work with development team to determine system performance requirements
Work closely with hardware engineers in developing embedded systems - help inform the hardware design with firmware insights and requirements
Develop requirements for, design, and author firmware in C for bare-metal microcontroller applications
Develop requirements for, design, and author LabView code for test fixtures
Participate in system design reviews, code reviews and hardware reviews
Work with the EE Team to bring up boards for new designs and troubleshoot issues.
Perform testing to assess implementation against the design requirements
Work with the Manufacturing Team to transfer embedded software systems to production.
Work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment. Contribute to a collaborative environment.
Work with other engineers to improve operational strategies and development processes
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or other technical or science discipline
4+ years demonstrated success in designing hardware for medical-device products and bringing them to market.
0-3+ years developing embedded C software in a production environment.
Strong C programming skills (e.g. pointer handling, optimize for reliability/speed/code size).
Strong LabView programming skills.
Comfortable working with microcontroller hardware (e.g. device drivers, interrupt handling).
Hands-on experience developing and testing firmware in tandem with hardware.
Familiarity with software configuration management and issue tracking
Familiarity with embedded software best practices.
Ability to organize and prioritize work and to meet deadlines.
Self-motivated and able to work independently.
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Strong oral/written communication skills - ability to write and speak clearly about technical subject matter
Flexibility and responsiveness in a fast-paced, dynamic, small team environment
