Summary
This role is part of the Baxter Global Environment, Health, Safety & Sustainability (EHS&S) function. Role is designed to ensure company meets EHS&S Product Stewardship goals, focusing on cross-business environmental compliance. The role’s primary function will be to track, distill, and disseminate information on the highly dynamic regulatory landscape for Baxter. A secondary function of this role will be to work with EHS&S and cross business functional staff to facilitate compliance initiatives through support of associated processes (Program Management).
What will you be doing?
Driving development and maintenance of Product Stewardship regulatory roadmaps and associated compliance status. This includes monitoring the dynamic chemical restrictions space globally (e.g. RoHS, REACH, Prop65, MDR, TSCA, etc.) along with the developing product sustainability regulatory space (e.g. LCA regulations, Packaging reporting, WEEE, etc.). Proactively following developments and trends.
Engaging partners and leading discussions on the analysis, selection, and implementation of new potential tools/functionality, technologies and/or services to achieve objectives.
Managing relationship for EHS&S regulatory tracking system(s) vendors/providers to deliver seamless flow of needed regulatory data.
Collaborating with internal and external collaborator groups to understand industry perspectives, requirements, providing mentorship, feedback, and anticipating needs inclusive of change management and training.
Supervising the collection and analysis of metrics; making sure data is regularly shared with collaborators through dashboards, scorecards, and presentations. Performing day-to-day system support tasks for system user groups, as required.
Working as part of an EHS&S team to facilitate in translating Baxter visions into short- and long-term goals and deliverables; managing projects/ priorities, timelines, and schedules.
Applying specialized knowledge and partnering internally and externally to develop comprehensive project plans, managing deadlines/resource needs, and effectively communicating purpose/need, scope, timing.
Enabling high user engagement/utilization of EHS&S Systems/Tools and EHSS task/activity efficiency improvements through simplification and standardization of work processes.
Skills and abilities we are looking for:
Experienced in communication and compliance, collaborates well within teams, adapts to inspire change in a diverse business setting.
Solid professional writing skills, capable of crafting regulatory summaries, technical progress reports, and delivering information to groups and leaders, with a good understanding of related fields.
Proficient in assessment and troubleshooting, can prioritize tasks, analyze data, and identify areas for process improvement and risk mitigation.
Ability to respond to detailed inquiries, present complex information, and provide mentorship to collaborators, while focusing on continuous improvement and demonstrating a track record.
Understand business needs, assist in EHS&S Product Stewardship strategy, and communicate clearly to collaborators.
Coordinate metrics development, collection, analysis, and data sharing with collaborators using expertise.
Education and/or Experience:
Degree in Environmental/ Chemical/Biological science with 1-3 years of experience in EHS role.
Experience in tracking/implementing various EHS&S regulatory programs at a business level.
