Your role at Baxter
The Assistant Supervisor for Service is responsible for leading the team by assigning, coordinating and guiding the day-to-day work of employees. This posting is primarily to lead and assist the Novum servicing and flowlines in service area. Ensuring the highest level of quality, this person follows documented work instructions and performs electrical/mechanical assembly, troubleshooting and/or testing procedures using hand and power tools, fixtures and aides. This person also will need to add TDMs in GSP when needed and be responsible for ensuring employees know what stations they need to be at throughout the work day.
What you'll be doing
- Adhere to all environmental, health and safety standard operating procedures and policies, including any department specific requirements.
- Follow defined Quality Management Systems, all applicable written procedures, review maintenance records and complete all documentation as required and in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
- Assists supervisor in instruction, training and delegation of assignments to employees.
- Assists supervisor with administrative support such as entering work orders and timekeeping corrections.
- Acts as a Subject Matter Expert in their respective area as a working Lead and ensures that parts, supplies and instructions are available to employees.
- Assists supervisor in maintaining a continuous workflow and ensure compliance with applicable procedures and policies.
- Reports on efficiency and trends related to productivity and quality and encourages continuous improvement.
- Participates in and leads team meetings, as required, and acts as the area representative when coordinating with other departments.
- Takes appropriate action if any safety, quality, mechanical or other issues are identified and escalates employee relations issues to Supervisor/Manager as needed.
- Depending on the respective area, performs electro-mechanical evaluation/assembly/repair/testing/rework while maintaining quality workmanship standards to ensure product reliability.
- Coordinates and documents non-conforming materials.
- Trains employees on an as-needed basis.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll bring
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience required.
- Experience working with medical devices and/or working in an FDA regulated industry is preferred.
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills (English) and the ability to follow written instructions.
- Ability to work well independently and as a member of a team, demonstrating teamwork and cooperation.
- Ability to coordinate with other teams in order to support the Service Department.
- Ability to analyze data, read diagrams and drawings and follow work instructions within established guidelines.
- Ability to document data accurately, following Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Must have good judgement, positive attitude and a high level of initiative.
- Must have proficient computer skills with ability to learn new systems, enter data and routinely toggle between various application systems.
- Ability to manually perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Experience with training in the service department is preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

- Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time with frequent walking, bending, stretching, grasping and using gross and fine motor manipulation.
- Depending on rotation of roles, must be able to lift up to 30 lbs on a routine basis and up to 42 lbs occasionally. Must be able to use material handling equipment such as pallet jack and walkie stacker.

This is a manufacturing environment regulated by the FDA and many other work rules to prevent damage to the product we manufacture. Some of those work rules include but are not limited to:
- Wear a static protective smock and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times while in the designated work areas.

- Work in an environment that is temperature and humidity controlled.

At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $52,800- $72,600 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.
