Your Team
- While everyone at Baxter has a shared passion for our mission, the ISC Medical Products & Therapies Project Management (MPT PMO) team plays a critical role in our ability to save and sustain lives. Co - located at key manufacturing facilities, with remote flexibility, team members work together to manage product design and materials change projects to successful completion through best practices and stakeholder management. They indirectly manage resources and may directly manage resources. ISC MPT PMO, effectively prioritize projects and interfaces with support functions and facility resources to drive projects to successful completion that ensure high quality, safe and effective products so our patients can live their best lives.

What you’ll be doing
- As a Sr. Principal Engineer, you will display engineering principles to resolve difficult and ambiguous problems. You will lead large, global cross-functional teams for multiple complex projects. You will plan, schedule, and lead large scale projects with minimal guidance, including defining program strategies, developing project goals, assigning project tasks and ensuring the team meets all project goals.
- As part of the project management team within the Integrated Supply Chain for MPT, the job entails working primarily but not limited on cost reduction projects and supporting complex projects from conception to implementation with a globally located manufacturing footprint.
- Occasional travel to Baxter / Supplier / Customer sites internationally will be required.
As a Sr. Principal Engineer, one can expect the following responsibilities:
- Act independently with minimal supervision to lead global cross-functional teams supporting large cost saving projects.
- Provide program updates and conduct reviews with all levels of management.
- Conduct assessments to evaluate the value stream for any given project, build of business cases in relation to the project and its financials.
- Lead large scale change controls associated with, but not limited to cost saving projects.
- Using your project management skill sets, you will develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress
- Prepare as necessary technical protocols and reports.
- Perform root cause investigations for technical problems.
- Perform basic statistical analysis and interpret functional testing results.
- Embrace projects accountability for critical decisions and deliverables with increasing complexity.
- Utilize creative thinking and teamwork to resolve conflicts/drive rapid decision making across sites/regions and functions.
- Provide technical direction and mentoring to entry-level engineers.
- Occasional travel to Baxter / Supplier / Customer sites internationally will be required.
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree or Project Management experience.
- 5+ years of work experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with ability to interface well with other departments and lead effectively and efficiently in a team environment.
- Experience with medical products or in a regulated environment is preferred.
- Experience in one or more of the following disciplines is preferred:
- Project management
- Compatibility and comparability studies
- Formulation experience
- Filtration experience/expertise
- Terminal sterilization (Steam/Gamma/eBeam)
- Plastics expertise (PVC, polycarbonates, etc.)
- Packaging engineering
- Transport validation
- Must be well versed in Project Management tools and must possess knowledge of related disciplines.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative assessment skills and critical thinking skills in support of analyzing and solving complex problems through innovative thought and experience.
- Must demonstrate strategic leadership, strong business acumen, and proficient supervisory skills, if applicable.
- Ability to manage multiple cross-functional teams simultaneously.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification will be given preference.
