Job Scope:
The Sustaining Engineering Team, within Front Line Care (FLC) Engineering, is responsible for managing, directing, and coordinating engineering product design development/modifications of current model products and product lines. As a Sustaining Project Leader, you will lead project teams to complete sustaining projects from planning through implementation. This position is for a person invested in building their career who is goal driven and enjoys working in a dedicated cross-functional team environment.

What You'll Do:
Your primary responsibilities will be to effectively organize and lead cross-functional project teams using your project management skills. Using your strong planning, organization, communication, and collaboration skills, you will manage a diverse scope of projects with limited supervision.  The Sustaining projects may include, projects aimed at enhancing product features of current products to ensure customer satisfaction, expanding current products into new markets/countries, addressing quality issues, meeting new regulatory standards, or reducing costs.

You will lead one large or multiple small to medium projects that impact company performance. You will direct the activities of internal and external team members to meet project objectives. You will also implement design changes into production for current products and provide consultation support of other engineering projects.

The appropriate candidate must be a flexible, self-directed, organized, dependable, proactive, and persistent Project Leader.  You must effectively plan and complete projects, coach project team members, solve problems, and make decisions with limited direction. As a Project Leader the successful candidate will communicate both up and down the organization to effectively complete and provide status of the projects.

What You'll Bring:

• 5-7 years of applied project management experience managing projects of various sizes  
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience or above
• Demonstrated ability to communicate and negotiate with a diverse group of cross-functional partners in Marketing, R&D, QA, Regulatory, Sourcing, and Operations.
• Well-versed in Medical Device Design Controls 
• Strong communication (verbal, written, and presentation) skills
• Proven attention to detail

Preferred Background:

• Technical/Engineering or Business Degree
• Applied experience with Microsoft Project as well as other Office Suite applications
• Prior SAP experience (including creation of DIRs, BOMs, Routers, writing Engineering Changes)
• Project Management Professional (PMP certification)

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $104,000 - $146,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
