Your Role at Baxter:

Baxter’s Respiratory Health business unit products expand therapies to better help patients and

physicians to manage chronic or acute respiratory and cardiac diseases (COPD, CHF, etc.).  The earlier the treatment for these patients – the better the quality of life.  The $150M business portfolio includes products for airway clearance and ventilation.   

As the Program Manager of AWC group, you will be leading program management function to support Sustenance Programs of the Airway Clearance Products in the Respiratory Health R&D team in Bangalore (BRD). You and your team will provide cross-functional leadership on key high value Sustenance projects from prioritization to implementation, delivery & post-market support.

In addition to leading some key projects, you will also be responsible for creating, ramping up and managing a team that aligns with the organization's vision or strategic plan. You will be responsible to recruit and build the complete team and drive the transfer of select product support ownership to support mainly in the sustaining engineering of airway clearance Devices.

This role assures quality is built into the design during new product development, leads teams to deliver product objectives, drives clarity by defining/prioritizing the work, defines critical interdependencies/deliverables for the cross-functional team, works with the Business and Core Team leading cross-functional work, manage program risks, deliver quality and impactful products, within budget. This role is expected to provide oversight for various projects and core team initiatives on routine cadence to senior management.

You will be expected to, based on product development process knowledge and significant program execution expertise, review and approve project plans and provide general direction to the cross functional program team. Utilize solid understanding of theories and practices of a variety of disciplines to manage complex projects or programs within boundaries of quality, time and budget. You will be acknowledged outside of business unit or division for input on programs of some magnitude. Need to exhibit creativity and innovation in completing divisional and cross-functional/business unit responsibilities.

This position is based out of Bangalore and reporting to the R&D Director for Respiratory Health division of Front Line Care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Own end-to-end project/program delivery, including Scoping, Prioritizing, Project plan, schedule, execution/monitoring working Cross-functional teams globally.
• Work in close collaboration with Program managers, Project Leads & Technical Leaders/ SMEs to achieve tactical project goals & balance strategic organization goals.
• Work closely with development teams spread globally, playing a leadership role in development process across products.
• Identify project risks, control them and manage regular communication to stakeholders, ensuring thoroughness in dealing with the details.
• Be a change agent. Drive agility in organization & demonstrate sense of urgency.
• Understands and deploys processes to assure conformance to the Baxter New Product Development/ Change management process in an expedited manner.
• Continuously reviews program progress, proactively identify risks and collaboratively develops and drives risk mitigation efforts.
• Interacts frequently with all levels of internal management as well as across functions and business units.
• Will work with post-market teams to monitor and handle product issues in the installed base through the CAPA processes laid down.
• Will be involved in identifying, selecting, managing & working with vendors of specialized skills and/or goods as is needed on projects.
• Participates in interactions with cross functional teams concerning product design, systems and processes.
• Mentors and Coaches Project leaders to ensure their project deliveries.
• Identifies and manages continuous improvement projects that may span multiple sections or departments with the objective of achieving quality, reliability, and cost improvements.
• Plays active role in developing long term plans for product development proposals.
• Has a keen eye on continuous improvement and simplification for  efficient delivery.

Your Team:

Reporting directly to Director for Respiratory Health, you will be responsible for growing a Program management functional team with the required engineering capabilities to support the Respiratory Health. Your team includes Project managers/ leaders of varying level of qualification and experience.

Your Location:

The role is located in the BRD facility in Bangalore India. 

What You’ll Bring:

• Bachelor’s in any engineering discipline with 12-15 years of experience.
• Minimum 5years experience in Program Management involving complex electromechanical hardware, Firmware, IT, Regulatory, Security, product life cycle and marketing. Should have had hands-on experience and worked as program / project manager for significantly complex projects in large organizations, preferably in a matrix global organization.
• PMP Certification will be an added advantage.
• Demonstrated facilitation and negotiation skills in driving closure on product/program-related decisions/issues

• Budget management skills – Finance, resource deployment & Material tracking and utilization.
• Strong visualization & reporting skills using latest & greatest project management & reporting tools
• Strong presentation skills and having had the exposure to reporting out project status to senior management.
• Vendor management skills – have had exposure working with external consulting firms delivering specialized skills and/or goods.
• Excellent interpersonal/communication/influencing/negotiation skills required.
• Sharp business, technical & financial acumen.
• Exposure to medical device or Healthcare projects would be a definite plus with exposure to Medical regulatory standards: 510K, FDA/ISO/IEC.
• Must be self-motivated, have good interpersonal skills, capable of analyzing and solving complex problems through innovative thought and experience.

• Ability to design and influence outside of immediate scope of responsibility.
