Reporting Line: Associate Medical Director CEEMEA
This is a hybrid role that combines office-based work with external stakeholder engagement and travel across the CEEMEA region
Role Summary:
As the Medical Affairs Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing the medical strategy and tactical plans across the Advanced Surgery and Anesthesia portfolios throughout the CEEMEA region.
In this role, you will work closely with commercial and cross-functional teams to drive the development and implementation of medical initiatives aligned with business objectives. You will serve as a trusted scientific partner, providing medical expertise, strategic guidance, and evidence-based support to both internal stakeholders and external partners, including healthcare professionals, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), scientific societies, and regulatory authorities.
The position plays a critical role in strengthening Baxter's scientific presence, supporting medical education, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, compliant medical activities across the region.
What will you do:
- Respond to and document Medical Inquiries (Med Info)
- Prepare, review, and approve scientific slides, brochures, letters, white papers, leaflets, and reports
- Give and moderate lectures, presentations, webinars, and trainings, both externally and internally
- Go on field visits to select top KOLs to conduct peer-to-peer medical discussions (KOL engagement & scientific exchange)
- Plan, budget, organize, and execute medical initiatives (Advisory boards, IIRs for evidence generation, RTDs, symposia, sponsorships, masterclasses, etc.)
- Attend congresses and stay up to date with the latest publications
- Travel to meet the needs of the various countries in scope (field visits, workshops, events, business reviews, etc.). Number of 3-day business trips could range from 2 to 10 per year
- Be present in the OR setting (hospitals) with surgeons and anesthesiologists for observerships and detailed medical discussions
- Support the conduction of Surgical Wetlabs and Anesthesia Simulations in centers of excellence
Experience & Qualifications
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of relevant disease states, clinical conditions, treatment pathways, therapies, and current clinical guidelines within the assigned therapeutic area.
- Critically evaluates scientific evidence, clinical studies, and medical literature, translating complex data into meaningful insights that support strategic and evidence-based decision-making.
- Develops and executes medical strategies aligned with global, regional, and local business objectives, ensuring scientific excellence and patient-focused outcomes.
- Collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams and diverse stakeholders across functions, countries, and cultures to achieve common goals and drive business impact.
- Builds and maintains trusted relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals, scientific societies, and regulatory authorities, serving as a credible scientific partner.
- Designs and delivers high-quality medical and scientific education programs for both internal and external audiences, while ensuring adherence to the highest ethical and compliance standards.
- Demonstrates initiative, resilience, and adaptability in a dynamic healthcare environment, with a strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
- Brings a strategic mindset combined with creativity and a collaborative approach to solving complex business and medical challenges.
- Previous experience within Medical Affairs, Medical Education, Clinical Affairs, or related healthcare functions is considered an advantage.
Education
- Medical Degree (MD) in Surgery or Veterinary Medicine Degree (DVM) is required.
- Surgical and/or anesthesiology expertise is a must.
- Candidates with a strong clinical background as a Surgical Nurse may also be considered.

Language Requirements: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.(additional regional languages may be an advantage depending on the market).

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The minimum salary for this position is 240 000,00 PLN annually. Your initial pay could be at the minimum or higher based on skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors, all of which are subject to change.
