For our Business Unit Advanced Surgery, we are currently seeking a Principal Scientist (f/m/d) based in Vienna.

Your Role:

• Develop global technical vision for new product/process design, or unique scientific theory that incorporates multiple disciplines and has broad business applications.
• Conducts research activities in an area of advanced technology development that may overlap several businesses/functions.
• Provide advice and advanced technical expertise to multiple disciplines to meet business plans. May provide advice and advanced technical expertise to industry.
• Demonstrates understanding and application of technical / scientific aspects of products and product development communicating across functions including regulatory affairs, business development, quality, legal, and Sr. management.

Your Profile:

• Masters degree with 20+ years relevant experience or 12+ years relevant experience with PhD.
• Has record of additional training and accumulation of expertise post degree in area of specialty.
• Demonstrated contributions to Baxter products in several business units.  Sought for input to product development outside of current business unit / division.  Contributes to Baxter core technical competencies.
• Has numerous scientific publications, invention filings, patent applications, and/or technical achievements.
• Frequently makes presentations inside and outside of Baxter.
• Invited to participate in scientific meetings, conclaves, etc.
• Seeks advice from both external and internal appropriate experts.
• Able to develop solutions and make recommendations based on analysis.
• Willing to participate & contribute to efforts beyond own scope of responsibilities.
• Motivated to positively impact the healthcare industry and ultimately patient’s lives.

The remuneration corresponds to the respective classification according to the Collective Agreement for the Chemical Industry. The minimum annual salary for this position is 78.383,90 Euros (full-time employment) based local legal collective agreements. Any corresponding overpayment depends on relevant professional experience and/or qualifications.
