About Baxter’s Cleveland, MS Facility:

Cleveland’s technology and automation are cutting edge.  It is the U.S. sole source for plastic pour bottles, glass IV, and various reconstitution devices.   This facility has a number of major product lines with a diverse array of automated manufacturing technologies ranging from bottle solution filling, injection molding, and device assembly.

Our Cleveland plant has been an integral part of Baxter for over 60 years.  The work is challenging and rewarding, as Baxter offers competitive compensation and benefits.  Baxter encourages and values every employee and believes that all can make a contribution to advancing healthcare for patients; work to be proud of.

  • Operate and monitor steam production. Ensure chemicals are added to Boilers at proper amounts by performing chemical tests.  Monitor all steam system equipment including Softeners, Deaerator, and Boilers. (Will be required to take ownership of the Boiler Chem. Program)

  • Operate and monitor all Distilled Water Production equipment (Filters, DI Units, Stills, Silos and Piping).  This includes performing all required chemical tests and regenerations.

  • Maintain records for Boiler Room operations (DW, steam, chlorine, etc.)

  • Be very knowledgeable of all Critical System Specifications and Water Specifications related to Boiler Room operations.

  • Be familiar with the operation of the Plant Fire Protection System.

  • Perform maintenance on equipment, to include general maintenance, preventive maintenance repairs and generating work orders.

  • Be able to troubleshoot Boiler Room equipment.

  • Make complex operation decisions and judgments when required.

  • Must perform all other duties and responsibilities as determined by supervision/management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be willing to work whenever needed or as much as required to keep all systems operational.

  • Must be willing to work on all shifts and work on all weekends and Holidays as required.

  • Must be able to work with other people. Routinely is in contact with management.

  • Some Boiler Room Experience is preferred.

  • Must have basic electrical experience and be able to check out industrial controls.

  • Experience in pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, electrical and steam system is desirable.

  • Must be mechanically inclined.

  • Must comply with DOT-specific drug and alcohol policy.  Reference CL-01-01-039.

  • Must achieve Boiler Operator Certification status.

  • Must be able to drive and operate a fork lift.

  • Must be comfortable working with computers.

  • Must be willing to take total responsibility of all operations in Boiler Room when on shift.

  • Must have knowledge of both plant and department environmental health and safety regulations and comply with said regulations accordingly.

  • Candidates must meet visual acuity requirements as documented in Baxter Cleveland procedure CL-01-01-037.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

  • Audiometric testing and hearing protection required

  • Ability to lift above the shoulder up to 20 pounds. Ability to bend/stoop.

  • Ability to work in unfavorable conditions (hot/cold temperatures)

  • Ability to meet confined space entry requirements. Ability to work in high places off the ground

NOTE:

  • Applicant must be able to work all shifts, weekends and holidays.

  • Applicant must be able work flexible hours.  

EDUCATION:

  • High School Graduate.
