Senior Procurement Specialist – Indirect Procurement- ISC Operations

Are you looking to take part in a Procurement transformation at the world’s largest manufacturer and distributor of hospital supplies? We are looking for a results driven Procurement Buyer with a passion for driving value, who wants to join our company mission to save and sustain lives. 

The team member in this role will be responsible for supporting our Manufacturing Plants, Compounding Centers, R&D Centers and Commercial Offices within India, Australia and New Zealand regions primarily focused on MRO and Facilities maintenance.   Additional categories that fall under Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) Indirect Procurement include Utilities, Capex and Supply Chain/Logistics.  This role will report to the India/ANZ Senior Lead Specialist (Mfg. Operations) within Baxter’s Indirect Procurement team. Estimated Indirect spend in India/ANZ is ~$225M.

This position will be responsible for supporting procurement excellence and driving best value for the categories under management, with key focus on cost, quality, and service. This role involves project management across several functions, business units and global sites and collaborating closely with business partners.

What you'll be doing

• Collaborate with internal partners and use these relationships to support the implementation of category strategies, pipeline items and short/medium/long-term goals to support the ongoing delivery of value pipeline
• Perform in depth spend analysis and market analysis on targeted areas of spend
• Support your supervisor in the development and execution of annual savings plans
• Develop RFI/RFPs and lead negotiations for key spend areas to achieve short-term and long-term savings targets.
• Support the supplier selection and contract negotiation process for key projects you are assigned
• Provide regular progress updates for assigned categories to the Senior Management and to key internal stakeholders
• Working with cross functional teams to drive various types of sourcing projects that span from easy to complex.
• Register the projects pipeline in the appropriate sourcing tools and provide regular reporting as to their status and expected benefits.
• Support in the implementation of the defined sourcing strategy and preferred suppliers.
• Generate regular reports for the category lead concerning the categories of spend under your responsibility
• Drive effective Supplier Relationship Management with key suppliers and monitor performance
• Stimulate and support innovation by using the supplier base, regularly reviewing market developments, and mobilizing the appropriate internal network
  

What you'll bring

• University degree or equivalent education in Finance, Engineering or Business
• Minimum 8 years of category procurement experience or other business experience. With multinational organizations a plus.
• Fluent in both Hindi and English (written and verbal); other languages a plus!
• Proven experience in people, stakeholder management
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Business acumen and ability to develop strategic thinking
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural and matrix environment.
• Ability to work efficiently with virtual teams.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while balancing priorities
• Ability to coordinate multiple parallel sourcing initiatives across different business groups
• Strong analytic and negotiation skills.
• Preferred: Experience in contracting includes but not be limited to Master Service Agreements, Statements of Work, Amendments and NDAs.
• Understanding of Procurement standard processes, supply markets, suppliers and products
