Summary

The API Developer plays a critical role in executing the data logic implementation for the analytics and enhancing Baxter’s ability to turn information into insights. The API Developer works with Subject Matter Experts to develop and maintain API Logic to for data processing routines and analytics.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop API’s within a cloud platform and for consumption from mobile, web, and other client consumers
• Work within a multidisciplined, agile development team to collaborate and deliver milestones and most loveable products
• Follow the industry best practices and processes in producing solutions for APIs and AWS Lambda

Skills & Qualifications

• Excellent written, documentation and verbal communication skills
• Overall 5+ years of experience in IT
• Experience with Python programming (knowledge on boto3 would be plus)
• Experience with AWS Lambda (AWS API Gateway would be plus)
• Experience with SQL structured/unstructured data sets. Experience with Amazon Redshift & Amazon RDS preferred
• Experience with performance tuning, load testing and analyzing the cloud logs using CloudWatch, AWS X-Ray tools
• Experience with TDD using pytest
• Experience with Git source code control and understanding of branching strategies
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and to work effectively given general guidance and direction
• The ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment; the right candidate is willing to take on projects and challenges with the ability to be flexible for change
• Experience in performing SAST, DAST scans, integrating security tools in CI/CD and developing a robust continuous security vulnerability management to support Development team

Education

• Bachelor or MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology or equivalent experience
