Your role at Baxter:

As the Value Stream Leader, you will have the unique opportunity to oversee all aspects of manufacturing and quality regulations for our Gamma sterilization operations. Your commitment to maintaining high production standards and ensuring outstanding customer happiness will be instrumental in the success of our operations. You will be responsible for supervising performance metrics, handling customer feedback, conducting quality checks, and ensuring the timely release of the value stream. What you'll be doing:

  • Oversee daily operations to ensure quality and productivity meet or exceed Company expectations, such as efficiency, downtime, conversion loss, tank release on time, mixing discards, safety incidents, complaints, and CAPAs.
  • Maintain absenteeism to a minimum level according to Baxter policies.
  • Train and evaluate new employees, while also planning cross-training for regular associates.
  • Motivate the workforce and nurture a team-oriented environment.
  • Monitor process quality and performance targets.
  • Promote a best-in-class environment through teamwork and encourage suggestions.
  • Develop and establish process improvement initiatives.
  • Evaluate complaints data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Apply understanding of specifications and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Implement cost reduction programs and optimize resources and capacity to positively impact profit and loss.
  • Promote a zero-harm workplace and ensure compliance with EHS practices and rules.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work on multiple projects and handle various tasks simultaneously.
  • Implement changes to procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Conduct internal audits and provide suggestions for process improvement.
  • Develop and implement projects (MIP) to reduce product cost.
  • Ensure the implementation and sustainability of 6s in the value stream.
  • Work optimally with minimum supervision.

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, science or related field with with more than three (3) years of supervisory experience is acceptable. Previous experience in a regulated manufacturing FDA environment is preferred.
  • Excellent social skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
  • In-depth knowledge of Baxter specifications and procedures, as well as the manufacturing process.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • Familiarity with GMP-QSRs, OSHA, BHEST, SPEC, SOP, and HR policies.
  • Collaborate closely with other departments, administrative staff, and managers.
  • Maintain open communication channels throughout the administrative chain of command.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Proficient in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Skilled in optimally communicating information and responding to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, employees, and internal or external audits.

Physical Demands:

This role involves light work, which includes exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. While the weight lifted may be minimal, the job may require significant walking or standing, pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls, or working at a production rate pace that involves constant pushing and/or pulling of materials.
