What you'll be doing

• Recognized as Senior leader within the site. Responsible for the strategic planning for the department of Engineering. Provides leadership in the development of ideas for continuous improvements in the following areas: Facilities, Utilities, Security, Critical Systems, Reliability, Steam / Sterilization, and Environmental Sustainability. Leads the Team in the automation journey definition to full plant automation and lead the team in defining the digitalization roadmap. Provides technical direction to staff. Cultivate an environment of creativity and innovation in multi-functional collaboration within the plant. Fosters a strong owned culture of compliance in safety and GMP. Develop with the overall plant collaboration a strong facilities / utilities and overall plant Compliance.
• Ensure and leads the implementation of >$70M automation projects in tight timeline respecting cost and schedule. Completes within time and cost the digitalization roadmap initiatives including AI – Visions – Latest technologies. Ensure equipment are installed, operated, and maintained in accordance with all company policies and Federal, Puerto Rican, and local regulatory requirements. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and focusing employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Ensure the plant is audit ready in all areas (managed by engineering) and compliant to GMP requirements. Complete the overall compliance plan as agreed in the plant quality master plan.
• Manages the maintenance equipment in his area and ensures daily compliance with all applicable regulations (cGMP, environmental) and management expectations. Develop, implement and confirm maintenance management standards.
• Provide strategic planning leadership to ensure adequate resources are available to complete all departmental responsibilities.
• Provide 24/7 support to the team and direct detailed activities in the face of tropical weather disruptions.
• Supervise and lead efforts site-wide to improve manufacturing equipment maintenance reliability, increase manufacturing mean time between failures, and reduce the financial impact of manufacturing equipment downtime.

What you'll bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Business Administration with advanced technical degree or equivalent experience; ten (10) or more year’s related experience in supervision in the engineering manufacturing environment, and relevant technical experience. Several years of technical management experience including multi-functional teams, resource and budget management and strategic development experience; a Master’s Degree in Business Administration or Managerial Engineering (desirable).
• cGMPs Training, State Engineering License desirable and other certificates, exams, registrations or licenses.
