Baxter's products and therapies are found in almost every hospital worldwide, in clinics and in the home. For over 85 years, we have pioneered significant medical innovations that transform healthcare.
Together, we create a place where we are happy, successful and inspire each other. This is where you can do your best work.
Join us at the intersection of saving and sustaining lives—where your purpose accelerates our mission.
We have a great opportunity in our team for a Senior Engineer at our Baxter plant in Sabiñanigo. You will play a meaningful role in advancing and sustaining digital manufacturing and Industry 4.0 initiatives for Baxter’s Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) manufacturing network.
If you are looking for a place where you choose to work with talented and dynamic people whose primary focus is to save and sustain lives and your work values focus on speed, simplicity, courage and collaboration. Then we would love to hear from you.
What are your responsibilities?
- Partner with a team of cross-functional technical specialists (e.g., software, machine learning, computer vision, mechanical and controls engineers, network administrators, and cloud computing architects) to develop and implement AI-based computer vision systems for sophisticated industrial automation use cases.
- Support and cooperate with multi-functional teams at a regional scale to deploy advanced technologies at our manufacturing facilities.
- Effectively lead project deliverables and commitments.
- Identify equipment/automation issues and recommend/implement improvements to Digital Transformation products and technologies.
- Support training workshops with our regional and site manufacturing engineers on Digital Transformation technologies with the goals of helping participants understand the intricacies of the technology and how to implement and sustain it themselves.
- Generate documentation, such as: protocols, reports, user requirements specifications (URS), design specifications, validation test cases, manuals, work instructions, etc.
- Learn to effectively use the command line in Linux (i.e., terminal) to provision hardware, interact with various command lines tools (e.g., Docker, AWS CLI, etc.), collect diagnostic information, and perform troubleshooting.
- Business Travel: Projects will be initially scoped to Sabiñánigo, Spain. Future projects and technology scaling efforts to regional EMEA facilities will likely require some travel for project scoping, system installation & commissioning, training local resources, etc.
We are presently seeking people who have:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in engineering, computer science, or related technical field.
- Validated experience in a manufacturing environment, including prior experience leading projects desirable.
- Advanced computer literacy/proficiency is required (Java, Python). Demonstrate a passion for learning software, coding, and related IT skills.
- Ability to communicate optimally in Spanish and English.
- Experience with computer vision hardware (i.e., industrial cameras, lenses, optics, and lighting) preferred.
- Experience engaging and effectively coordinating outside contractors, vendors, suppliers, etc. preferred.
- Ability to recognize and clearly communicate the business value of transformation programs.
- Ability to work successfully in a matrixed organization and regulated environment.
