Your Role at Baxter:

Baxter’s Pharmaceuticals Segment delivers differentiated hospital pharmaceuticals in areas of pain, critical care, anti-infection, and oncology. This $2.2B segment includes Injectables & Anesthesia ($1.3B) and Drug Compounding ($.9B) businesses; and reporting 6% annual growth in 2023.  Investing In growth opportunities and executing on a robust pipeline or product launches are the lifeblood of continued growth.

As the Senior Director New Product Launch (NPL) Marketing & Portfolio Strategy, Pharmaceuticals, you will play a critical role in driving the growth and success of Baxter Healthcare's branded, hospital injectable, specialty, generic product portfolio. You will be responsible for leading multiple cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, high-quality, and profitable new product launches and portfolio management initiatives. Additionally, as Senior Director will work closely with R&D, sales, regulatory, and other functions to ensure a seamless and efficient go-to-market process.  This requires several years of digital marketing experience and a proven track record of launching new products utilizing omni channel marketing.  You will be accountable for $800M in revenue for US and Canada while leading a team of New Product Launch Marketers and Launch PMOs.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Leading and managing a team that is accountable for the end-to-end new product launch process, including strategic planning, cross-functional collaboration, market research, product positioning, marketing materials development, and post-launch evaluation.

  • Develop and implement go-to-market strategies for new products, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and market needs.

  • Collaborate with R&D, sales, regulatory, and other functions to ensure successful product development, regulatory approval, and commercialization.

  • Manage the portfolio of products, identifying growth opportunities, and making informed decisions about product investments, discontinuations, and refreshes.

  • Conduct market research to understand customer needs, competitive landscape, and market trends, and use insights to inform product strategy and positioning.

  • Develop and execute marketing plans, including product messaging, promotional activities, and sales enablement materials.

  • Work with the sales team to ensure effective product launches and sales enablement, including training and education.

  • Monitor and analyze sales and market data to assess product performance and make recommendations for optimization.

  • Collaborate with the Finance team to develop and manage product budgets, pricing strategies, and profitability projections.

  • Developing and implementing digital marketing strategies to increase brand awareness, generate leads, and drive sales for the company.

  • Managing and optimizing various digital marketing channels, such as search engine marketing, social media, email marketing, and content marketing.

  • Analyzing and reporting on the performance of digital marketing campaigns, identifying areas for improvement, and making data-driven decisions to optimize results.

  • Staying up to date with the latest trends and best practices in digital marketing, and continuously learning and adapting to new technologies and platforms.

  • Coordinating with external partners, such as digital marketing agencies and technology vendors, to ensure the successful delivery of digital marketing campaigns.

Your Team:

As Senior Director New Product Launch Marketing & Portfolio Strategy, Pharmaceuticals – US & Canada you will report to the GM, Pharmaceuticals – US & Canada.  You will lead a total team of up to 6.  Furthermore, you will sit on the US-Cananda Pharmaceutical Leadership team.

Your Location:

The role is located at our global corporate headquarters in the greater Chicago, IL area northern suburb of Deerfield.  Baxter is committed to supporting the needs for flexibility in the workplace. We do so through our flexible workplace policy which includes a minimum of 3 days a week onsite. This policy provides the benefits of connecting and collaborating in-person in support of our Mission. Consideration will also be given to remote work from a US location.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or related field; Master's degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in product management, marketing, or related field, with a proven track record of delivering successful new product launches and portfolio management initiatives in the branded pharmaceutical, biosimilars or biotechnology industry is required; hospital injectable in the critical care setting (ER, OR, ICU).

  • 505B2 experience a plus.

  • Previous Digital Marketing product launch experience.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.

  • Proven ability to develop and execute effective marketing strategies, including market research, product positioning, and promotional activities.

  • Strong knowledge of the healthcare industry, with a deep understanding of market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.

  • Experience working with R&D, sales, regulatory, and other functions to ensure successful product development, regulatory approval, and commercialization.

  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing circumstances.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $208,000 - $286,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and/or long-term incentive.
