Your role at Baxter
As Senior Accountant DACH (m/f/d) you will be part of Regional Controlling organization and ensuring compliance with US GAAP, statutory and tax requirements in Germany and Austria. You'll bring understanding of complex accounting matters, quick problem-solving skills and strong collaboration with other finance and non-finance teams. This role is required as part of the proposed spin-off of Baxter Kidney Care segment and you will become part of the spin-off organization.
This role is based in Unterschleißheim, near Munich (hybrid option).
What you'll be doing
Support the controlling team in executing US GAAP, statutory and tax accounting.
Hands-on preparation of financial statements and reporting for the entities in scope; ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of the reporting.
Ensure adherence of processes to company's policies and procedures, internal and external audit requirements and local rules and regulations; support strengthening of financial processes and controls.
Work closely with other finance and non-finance teams, as well as external providers, in execution of end-to-end finance processes.
Participate in resolution of complex accounting and tax issues.
Participate in local, regional, and global projects, as required.
Be an advocate of finance function.
Maintain focus on continuous process improvement.
What you'll bring
Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
Proven experience in a multinational environment and/or audit.
Strong knowledge of US and local GAAPs and tax matters
Excellent communication skills, diplomatic, flexible and “can do” mind-set.
Fluent in both written and spoken English and German.
Strong reporting tools including MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Preferred ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification with public accounting experience
