ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Participate in and contribute on medium to large size projects, own assigned tasks, produce detailed requirements and analysis documents for assigned tasks. Partner with business and other IT teams to complete work. Mentor and train others. Resolve complex system problems. Minimal guidance to complete work.
Participate in all phases of SDLC (define requirements, code, test, debug, and document) with moderate guidance on analysis, and minimal guidance on system integration and coding. Follow the SDLC processes, application processes and quality validation (when appropriate) for medium to large projects.
Develop project plans and time estimates for assigned tasks in a project.
Prepare detailed specifications from which programs will be written by either the incumbent or others.
Interact and leverage acquired business knowledge and contact(s) to analyze and define a business application or solution.
Develop test requirements, and prepare and document test data for complex system testing.
Devises data verification methods & standard system procedures, participates in systems testing, prepares program test data, tests and debugs programs.
In specialized systems, effectively set options to change the way the program works (configuration responsibilities).
Provide support for production systems including problem resolution. Use problem-solving skills to assist in resolution of business problems.
Independently conceives and develops general approaches to the solution of systems problems which require application of basic technical principles.
Validation of systems (ie. POMS) following SDLC process (gathering of requirements, design, authoring, testing and validation).
Develop and maintain interfaces to ensure proper integration of various systems Ex: MES POMS system with other systems.
Write procedures, systems documentation, user and training manuals, validation protocols and other required documentation by company policies and procedures.
Respond to and resolve more complex business and technical problems. Identify root causes for problems and propose solutions to prevent recurring problems.
Forge long-term business relationships to better understand the needs of the business.
Train and mentor less experienced programmers so that they develop their application skills and understanding of the SDLC and/or quality validation processes.
Partner with other IT teams to ensure tasks are implemented using IT standards.
Continue to work with business vendors to resolve day-to-day problems or make process changes. Work with lower level programmers on the more complex activities or problems.
Willing to work within minimum supervision.
Should be able to work with many projects and handle multiple tasks at the same time.
Should be able to work holidays, extra hours and at any shift when requested (eg. shutdowns, troubleshooting new systems, implement new systems).

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in Computer Science or a related field with systems experience preferred. Must have 5+ years of system experience in developing and/or supporting applications to solve business problems.
Knowledge in: VmWare Virtual Environment, Storage Area Network, Microsoft Products, Networking (Active Directory, LAN, DNS, DHCP, FTP, others), Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, and troubleshooting computer equipment, POMS, Infinity QS, Cisco devices, HP Servers, IBM Servers, Hitachi SAN, AS400 others.
Experience in developing full validation documentation and testing protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ/UAT) within the various SDLC phases
Self-motivated and quick learner of business processes and technologies
Excellent Technical Writing and Communication skills
Understanding of manufacturing processes, packaging processes, warehouse and distribution streams
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Basic knowledge in English and Spanish languages.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed involved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
