The Role
As a Senior Manager of Operation Excellence, focusing on training and support you will support the strategic direction, development and management of the training and support group. You will be responsible for ensuring that the training needs of Global Operations and Support Functions are met. You will report directly to the Director of Operational Excellence, Training and Support.
  • Work with Global Operational Excellence Directors to establish training goals and objectives to meet Six Sigma and Lean training needs as well as other training needs as they develop.
  • Develop, maintain, deploy and deliver OpEx training (GB,BB,MBB, problem solving and other ad hoc training that is required)
  • Schedule, publish and communicate training timetables with Global OpEx Directors and local OpEx leaders.
  • Coach division-wide Black Belt and Green Belt candidates to ensure timely completion of their quality and/or cost focused projects, ultimately leading to the candidate’s certification.
  • Assist the Global directors to improve GB and BB certification rates by developing exam prep sessions and training aids.
  • Mentor and develop the skills of the Training and Support team members.
  • Ensure that the content of the training material meets Baxter’s training objectives and needs.
  • Continuously evaluate ways to improve Baxter’s training and best practice sharing programs.
  • Ensure that each site has local OpEx support infrastructure and deployment plan.
  • Work closely with the site management to better understand how corporate OpEx can assist the sites in their continuous improvement journey.
  • Assists leadership in establishing baseline and target metrics for key processes.


  • BS/BA degree or equivalent degree in Business Management, Engineering or other related field of study. MBA, MS or other technical graduate degree preferred.
  • Certified Black Belt, Master Black Belt preferred, solid knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principles
  • Extensive experience of business operations and/or plant manufacturing including some demonstrable experience of process improvement success.
  • Experience teaching GB/BB training courses.
  • Experience managing teams and developing support programs.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Strong teaching and presentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
