Summary

The role of the Senior Accountant to ensure accuracy and integrity of US GAAP and statutory financial statements for entities across ECEMEA region, provide expertise in complex accounting matters and decisions, and build strong partnership with various internal and external stakeholders.

This role focuses on managing, overseeing the selected accounting processes, accounting documents and reconciliations, implementation of process and tools standardization in compliance with accounting policies, US GAAP and Local GAAP standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the Controller and the team in executing US GAAP, statutory and tax accounting and reporting for the entities in scope; ensure completeness, accuracy and timeliness of the reporting.

  • Providing financial information and analysis through:

    • reconciliation

    • account analysis and comments preparations for variances

    • accounting journal entries, and

    • specialized reports

  • Ensure adherence of processes to company's policies and procedures, internal and external audit requirements and local rules and regulations; support strengthening of financial processes and controls

  • Serving as an active member of the finance team by fostering teamwork and promoting collaboration

  • Supporting junior team members

  • Work closely with business and supporting functions located in different countries, Shared Service Center, Service Delivery partners in execution of end to end finance processes

  • Participate in resolution of complex accounting and tax issues

  • Participate in local, regional and global projects, as required

  • Be an advocate of finance function

  • Maintain focus on continuous process improvement

  • Analysis of the differences in the Balance Sheet between local GAAP and US GAAP Principles

  • Preparation of the monthly reconciliations for the financial reporting and statutory

  • Daily support to colleagues and internal teams on Tax and VAT matters

  • Execution of month/quarter/year-end closing activities and financial reporting

  • Identifying challenges and finding solutions

  • Ad-hoc project support

Qualifications

  • Able to work independently, as well as, in a multi task, multi-functional matrix

  • Ability to meet deadlines

  • Good interpersonal, communication, analytical, reconciliation and teamwork skills

  • Excellent communication skills, diplomatic, flexible and “can do” mind-set

  • Positive work ethic and self-motivated

  • Ability to learn accounting software

Education and/or Experience

  • Demonstration of key finance competencies and qualifications
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in Accounting/Audit/Controlling/ Internal Controls

  • University degree in Finance/Economics

  • Working knowledge of JD Edwards or another ERP system

  • Fully bilingual (English /other language is a plus) as a requirement

  • Excel proficiency (Intermediate/Advanced)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Experience in the transformation/accounting process optimization project is a plus
