The Associate Sales Representative (ASR) - East will promote a product portfolio for the specific division within Baxter. This critical role is considered the product expert over the products covered and primary call points will be within various departments within the hospital including ICU, OR, ED and others.

Ideal candidates for this role will be based in major metro areas within the eastern half of the United States; some ideal states include Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, Tennessee, New York, Pennsylvania.

This is a field based role with extensive travel.

This presents a unique opportunity to break into the medical device sales industry, leveraging your past successes from your B2B or B2C sales experience.  In addition, you can help play an active role in contributing to the overall success of this critical division.

The budgeted salary range for this role is $55,000-$65,000 base + commission, along with a company vehicle and comprehensive benefits that start day 1.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understanding all the products, specialties and devices within the assigned portfolio
  • Covering accounts for the team, interacting with clinicians, and communicating outcomes, changes, and opportunities to the Region Business Manager (RBM), Territory Business Manager (TBM), and Therapy Development Specialist (TDS) where applicable
  • Monitoring and building relationships with key hospital staff with new and existing accounts
  • Maintaining and troubleshooting in place equipment and conducting education in-services for Baxter equipment
  • Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with customers including surgeons, nurses, and ICU/ED/OR staff
  • Effectively receiving and maintaining client relationships and additional business
  • Assisting the new customer onboarding process and ensuring smooth transitions
  • Maintaining on-label usage of Baxter products through presence in the hospital and in-servicing
  • Working closely and communicating with RBM & TBM with the same account responsibilities to maintain existing Baxter Business
  • Working with RBM, TBM, and TDS to develop a plan to reach financial goals and quotas
  • Providing coverage for territories with a TBM/TDS vacancy or cover leaves of absence for a given territory in the Region
  • Handling any broad duties within the region(s). May be required to work outside primary assignments as required by business positions
  • Working autonomously to achieve established goals while proactively communicating with management and team members

Qualifications:

  • Business Acumen: Understands business, industry and marketplace, including competition; strategically applies this knowledge effectively to achieve business goals.
  • Balances Stakeholders: Maintains current business and drives sustainable long-term sales growth with existing and new customers through teamwork with internal sales and business partners.  Problem solves and owns customer issues, while ensuring all parties and team members are kept informed of relevant information and resolution to enhance customer loyalty and revenue generation.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of relevant sales experience or 4+ years of relevant sales or operating room/ICU environment experience
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • At least 75% travel is required and may involve visits to remote or urban areas either individually or with other personnel. Position will have an assigned geographic territory which spans several states.
  • Individuals must live within the current geography or be willing to relocate to it. Familiarity with posted territory is strongly desired
