Summary:
The Senior Analyst, Global Transportation is responsible for managing projects, establishing global standard work, translating & prioritizing requirements, supporting transportation value improvement projects, reporting metrics & identifying trends. This role will work closely with global service providers and regional functional stakeholders to simplify transportation processes. We encourage an independent thinker with diversity of thought to support a culture of agility and collaboration. Data collection, reporting, analysis, and project management are key to success in this role.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Drive global standardization of logistics processes
Execute value improvement projects against ~$750M of freight under management
Manage all aspects of multiple medium sized and/or complex projects from initiation through closure
Develop, sell, and implement comprehensive project plans, encompassing project team structure and resource assignment, implementation, testing and training plans, creation of a control plan identifying both business process metrics and ensuring successful transition to operations teams
Own all project risk; including time, budget, and scope, and the associated plans to contain and/or mitigate risk
Responsible for translating high-level business requirements into detailed functional specifications and managing requests for changes to the specifications
Assist the business in determining which business requirements can and should be automated and how they are then integrated with other business and technical processes
Overcome roadblocks to ensure project delivery is made in line with internal and external customers’ requirements
Develop, coach and lead operations teams, setting measurable goals and objectives to evaluate success
Maintain functional peer relationships and detailed working knowledge of logistics systems, organization, and business processes
Drive continuous improvement culture with a pipeline of ideas for service improvements, cost reduction, efficiency and/or optimization
Expertise in pulling, validating, analyzing, and presenting key data to facilitate decision making
Present updates to Transportation Leadership Team with clear timing and deliverables
Qualifications:
4+ Years of Transportation experience in a matrixed organization
Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Strong communication skills (with team, peers, and upper management) and ability to develop rapport with other functional leaders inside Baxter and external partners
Thinks strategically, innovates, and makes recommendations for improvements consistently
Analytical experience for solving complex problems with clear fact-based solutions
Strong oral and written communication skills
Excellent project management, communication, and analytical skills. Ability to document, plan, market & execute projects
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
Proven ability to work on cross-functional, multi-cultural teams
Proven ability to meet deadline in a fast-paced changing environment
