Summary
Baxter Thetford has an opportunity for a strong Training Supervisor to join our rapidly growing Compounding Unit in Thetford. With a strong emphasis on visible leadership, accountability and building a team ethos, this role is ideal for anyone looking to make an impact on patient care.
You will responsible for planning, leading and managing the training activities in Thetford with direct line management responsibility for 4 trainers who are supporting nutrition and pharmacy compounding manufacturing areas. As part of the local SLT, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing every stage of the training structure, development and implementation of a lean training strategy for the local Unit providing technical expertise for all aspects of activities in line with Manufacturing License and Quality System requirements.
Responsibilities
Produce targeted and tangible results by creating an effective and efficient training team that will be supporting and driving training of the work force in compliance with Baxter and regulatory requirements.
Responsible and accountable for developing, facilitating and implementing a clearly defined training strategy that supports development of skills needed in aseptic compounding as well as critical thinking skills in the work force
Identifying training needs and providing recommendations on programs and activities
Develop and implement best practices and innovative training methods to meet company needs
Responsible for maintaining skills matrix for the unit, creation of training plans for staff, creation of reports on training using the BAXU system.
Responsible for creation and maintenance of training materials such as ‘Structured On-The-Job-Training’ (SOJT)
Ensures by engaging with stakeholders from production and quality management that training incorporates any new requirements and remains current.
Responsible for maintaining compounding unit training system (BAXU) learning objects.
Collaborate with management in the compounding unit to develop targeted development plans for individual employees
Evaluating training effectiveness as indicated by participant feedback, management feedback and company outcome data
In corporation with Manager, Training UKI and UK compounding HR Manager create differentiated development pathways, including onboarding processes for new employees and leadership development programs for current employees seeking promotion
Coordinating all training logistics, securing training space, and registering participants
Responsible for setting up training KPI’s for the department and to drive corporate training targets in the unit to ensure compliance.
Shop floor presence to support coaching and mentoring of staff to ensure all critical processes are executed with a sense of urgency in compliance with Baxter processes as well as ensuring documentation is completed in accordance with GMP, Standard Operating Procedures and other regulatory agency requirements.
Ensure timely completion of relevant deviation and complaint investigations to identify true root cause and elimination of future reoccurrences in conjunction with other unit members
Set objectives for and appraise the performance of individual team members to ensure individuals are focused on activities that will support the Thetford objectives and ensure stakeholder satisfaction
Proactively look for opportunities to drive continuous improvement, influence decisions and deliver the results whilst ensuring an appropriate level of compliance.
Responsible for implementation and use of daily boards for tracking performance with mechanisms in place to address challenges in output.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Degree within Science, Education or Human resources is ideal
Certified professional in training management preferable
Previous working experience as a training supervisor preferably within GMP / regulated industry is desirable
Knowledge of Aseptic techniques and/or working in cleanrooms is an advantage
In-depth knowledge of staff learning and assessment protocols
Strong knowledge and preferably experience with development of training material, such as SOP, SOJT’s as well as training material for different learning styles
Sense of ownership and pride in own and team performance and its impact on company’s success
Ability to apply methodic and strategic approaches
Good time-management skills
Passion for teaching and strong knowledge of learning theories and training methodologies
Strong teamwork abilities and ability to manage relationships through understanding of environment and needs
Excellent verbal and formal communication skills, together with critical reasoning skills.
