Summary
Baxter Thetford are looking for a self-motivated Project Engineer to join the team supporting the front line manufacturing of intravenous fluid products using automated process to the defined standards of Quality, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and EH&S while continuously improving the process. You will responsible and accountable to deliver the future business needs in terms of overall performance of the new technologies.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join an organisation that offers clear career progression. The standard hours for this role are Monday-Friday 09:00-17:00 however we are able to offer flexibility should you want to work different hours.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide process documentation and operating instructions
Understand the end to end process from weighing and mixing of raw materials through to packing and release of final product. Assess processes, take measurements and interpret data
Develop, configure and optimize industrial processes from inception through to start up and certification
Design, run, test and upgrade systems and processes
Ensure the new processes are designed and run to deliver high quality products at lowest costs, while ensuring that the new processes comply with EH&S, GMP and 6s methodology. Develop best practices, routines and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of output
Perform process simulations
Ensure continuous improvement processes in Patient safety and Quality, Growth through innovation, Best place to work and Industry leading performance related to the technologies overseen.
To monitor the OEE of the Process equipment including the racking automation systems, and identify and implement improvements
To develop regular routine planned maintenance tasks for the production line equipment in line with the procedures and programmes in place. Have extensive knowledge of TPM (Total Preventative Maintenance)
Actively participate and lead (when necessary) the engineering brief and update visual management boards
Carry out training activities for team members on the production processes using various techniques to ensure competency,
Manage a number of processes simultaneously.
Understanding of visual inspection systems (e.g. vision cameras, serialisation)
Understanding of robotic equipment such as loaders and RFID truck handling systems.
Perform and manage risk assessments according to Baxter standards
Qualifications
Degree in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, electronic, chemical, process, manufacturing or equivalent) or HNC (ideally Engineering / manufacturing / Industrial Design)
Manufacturing environment experience
Excellent communication skills
Basic understanding and experience of Microsoft packages including Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Project
Understanding and experience in using statistics for analysis, trending etc
Understanding and experience in using problem solving tools such as DMAIC, 5Why, Fishbone, A3 etc
Experience of performing basic maintenance activities and an understanding of mechanical, electrical and automation principles
Ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships
Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team and at all levels
