Baxter Thetford has an opportunity for a demand and supply Planning team Leader to join our rapidly growing Compounding Unit.  With a strong emphasis on visible Leadership, accountability and building a team ethos, this role is ideal for anyone looking to make a difference in our quest to deliver products in a timely and accurate manner while ensuring world class customer service is maintained

Working closely and under the guidance of the Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing a small team responsible for daily demand and supply planning for the Thetford Compounding Unit. You will drive planning activities in the team ensuring objectives are aligned to the commercial business requirements by close collaboration with order processing/customer service, manufacturing and warehouse/logistics teams on site. By understanding and monitoring manufacturing flow cycle times and their impact, you will be responsible for forecasting and management of high-level capacity plans translating these into workable daily production plans while ensuring that orders are allocated to all correct production locations.

You will also be required to manage inventory projections which are reviewed to ensure a seamless supply of product to all compounding customers & patients and this will involve working with stakeholders in other areas of the business on a regular basis.

Role Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing visibility when orders are due to be compounded for key customers as well as communicating delays in delivery of FP, RM etc.

  • Develop, update and monitor key performance indicators in relations to the supply of products to the customers and manufacturing performance

  • Responsible for organizing daily tasks and setting goals for the team to meet expectations and company targets for supply chain KPI’s 

  • Responsible for leading in resolving issues that might affect safety, compliance, output, business ethics, responsible sourcing etc.

  • Through a strong presence on the workplace, coach and mentor staff to ensure all critical processes are executed with a sense of urgency in compliance to Baxter internal processes as well as ensuring documentation is completed in accordance with GMP, Standard Operating Procedures and other regulatory agency requirements.

  • Ensure timely completion of relevant deviation and complaint investigations to identify true root cause and elimination of future reoccurrences. 

  • Set objectives for and appraise the performance of individual team members to ensure individuals are focused on activities that will support the Thetford objectives and ensure customer satisfaction

  • Proactively look for opportunities to drive continuous improvement, influence decisions and deliver the results whilst ensuring an appropriate level of compliance.

  • Recruitment, development and resource allocation in area of responsibility. This includes a strong adherence to complying with company policies on sickness management, overtime, disciplinary hearings.


  • Previous working experience within Supply Chain organization for minimum 3 years preferably within a GMP regulated industry

  • Sense of ownership and pride in own /team performance and its impact on company’s success

  • Capable of working under pressure, to tight deadlines

  • Experienced in leading and developing teams

  • Excellent verbal and formal communication skills, together with critical reasoning skills.
