Nutrition Sales Specialist

Summary:

This position covers the Parenteral Nutrition product line and the rep is responsible for the entire parenteral nutrition portfolio at Baxter with call points including Pharmacists, Dietitians, Clinicians and IT Technical Specialists.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Achieving sales quotas through the direct sale of the company's products or services. Implement sales strategies to attain sales volume, product mix and profit objectives.
  • Calls on prospective customers, master effective sales presentations, provide technical and administrative product information and/or demonstrations, and quotes appropriate customer prices.
  • Monitors sales against forecasts and participates in the determination of market potential for the territory.
  • Work closely with marketing, medical information and consultant pharmacists to support customer experience.
  • Provides feedback to immediate supervisor and marketing personnel for the development of marketing policy, recommended product and product line revisions as well as pricing changes.
  • Promotes the Baxter Culture through positive ongoing relationships and activities.
  • Provides feedback regarding product simplification and standardization to enhance profitability of sales line.
  • Assists customers with review and analysis of current parenteral nutrition processes.


Qualifications:

  • Candidate must live within the Territory
  • Clinical experience as a nurse, dietitian, or pharmacist with parenteral nutrition patients is a plus
  • Successful medical sales experience selling to multiple stake holders
  • Successful sales experience with IV therapy products and/or pharmacy operations
  • Bachelor's degree with 3+ years experience or 6+ years of relevant experience
  • At least 50% travel is required
  • Candidate must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, as well as negotiation and presentation skills
  • Position requires ability to analyze and interpret data for effective sales strategies
  • Must have good organization and time management skills
  • Ability to understand and adapt to customers' changing needs
  • Demonstrates business acumen and strong knowledge of sales processes
