Summary:

This individual shall be responsible for process design, development, process qualification and technology transfer of therapeutic products and container devices for manufacturing plants in China and/orAsia-Pacific region.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Play an important role in the evaluation, selection and adaptation of various processes and techniques, in order to accomplish business objectives.

2. Responsible for selection, evaluation and development of manufacturing processes for therapeutic products and container devices.

3. Contribute to technical feasibility analysis of complex research and design concepts;

4. Participate in multi-disciplinary product development teams to provide manufacturing process input;

5. Manage technology transfer from R&D to manufacturing facilities and between manufacturing facilities based on sound laboratory/pilot scale studies and thorough understanding of commercial scale processes.

6. Independently design and conduct process development studies to scale up manufacturing processes for commercial production.

7. Execute studies to support regulatory filings and/or to provide technical justifications for change control. Support inspections in manufacturing plants;

8. Write and implement study protocols and reports. Write and implement process qualification protocols, reports and support plants SOP's documentation.

9. Maintain knowledge of relevant quality and safety requirements while building knowledge of other regulatory requirements related to R&D (product development, process validation) to ensure compliance in all research, data collection and reporting activities;

10. Maintain technical knowledge on manufacturing processes for various product families, technical platforms and plants. Have a working knowledge and understanding of GxPs and related regulations and guidance.

Qualifications, Education and/or Experience:

1. Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline with at least 8 years of relevant experience, MS with at least 5 years, or PhD with at least 3 years of relevant experience. The degree should be in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Pharmaceutical Engineering;

2. Good understanding of GxP, ICH requirements as well as Quality by Design (QbD) principles;

3. Experience with process development, process validation and trouble shooting of pharmaceutical product is required.

4. Experienced in R&D process/system, relevant laboratory and data analysis skills.

5. Excellent in writing and oral communication in English, adequate computer skills

6. Well experienced in prioritizing multiple tasks in a fast paced environment, Demonstrate flexibility and the ability to shift gears between projects comfortably

7. Leadership of technical teams, and project management experience.

8. Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization, and good communication and interpersonal skills are highly desirable;

9. Be able to travel for assignments up to 20% time.
