Summary

This position reports to the Director of Program Management R&D, and is responsible for program definition, leadership and communication for the life-cycle management across an electromechanical portfolio in the Medication Delivery Global Business. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide business and technical leadership for a major, high-complexity portfolio within the Medication Delivery (MD) Business.  The MD business is a core growth area providing infusion pumps, intravenous drugs, and administration and pharmacy preparation devices with over $2B sales annually.
  • Lead cross functional teams in all aspects of project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and closure for life-cycle management of electromechanical devices. Lead teams in timely resolution of complex problems, including development of technical solutions, project plans, resourcing plans and budgets
  • Provide leadership within the MD business and manage stakeholder expectations with regard to deliverables during the program
  • Comfortable influencing and communicating with senior leaders inside and outside the business unit.
  • Work within the guidelines of project management, standard performance metrics, and regulatory guidelines to apply best practice Project Management skills, methodologies and standards (such as PMBOK).
  • Establish, track and communicate project risks
  • Manage all financial aspects of assigned projects, from initiation through close, which may include capital expenditures, functional expenses, and program positioning.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related discipline plus 7 years project management experience.  Desired: Master’s degree or equivalent in related discipline. Scientific or engineering degree preferred
  • Minimum: 10 yrs. in product life cycle experience with demonstrated success leading multi-site, global or enterprise wide programs in the medical products industry. Previous experience with electromechanical devices desired.
  • PMI, IPMA or equivalent certification desired.
  • Self-motivated, good interpersonal skills, experienced in analyzing complex problems and in driving high performing teams, strong leadership and financial acumen skills
