Baxter Healthcare’s mission is to save and sustain lives by delivering products and services that are the essential building blocks of healthcare. This role is an integral part of our Medical Delivery team. This Lead software integrator is responsible for leading integrated planning and execution of software development projects within the product portfolio.

Essential Role and Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with the software development teams and feature owners right from the requirements phase through to the verification phase ensuring quality objectives are met at all levels.
  • Co-owns, with Product Owner, and be responsible for the software development plan, Iteration and Sprint plan & integration plan of various sub-systems into the system, & integration of device application software with external vendors
  • Engagement with cross-functional teams to the necessary extent to ensure for each development cycle, the dependencies for software are ready including the requirements, specifications, hardware and testing resources.
  • Collaborates with connectivity teams to develop common infrastructure for interoperability needs with other medical devices
  • Manages NPD R&D project teams through integration and tracking of different plans, as well as major SPO lifecycle activities (e.g. complex product CAPA).
  • Owns and accountable for planning of software build integration within & across sub-systems; Works closely with software architect on key technical issues and solutions; Works closely with software architect to control the branching strategy & configuration management for the project
  • Works closely with product development need to identify different configurations needed for integrated development, & is the owner of the s/w configuration build plan
  • Ensures identification and communication of project integration risks, development of risk plan and proactive management of risk response strategies
  • Orchestrates software technical design reviews across different system element
  • Interfaces with cross-functional team members to the necessary extent to ensure the needs of reliability, serviceability for software will be met in the product
  • Interfaces with Project/Program Manager/Lead System Integrator to understand new scope items or design changes & works with SME to evaluate options maintaining balance between project cost, schedule

Qualifications

  • Bachelors in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical, Software or related field with 8 - 10+ years of product development, project Management, and integration experience with proven record of success in a fast-paced environment
  • A solid technical understanding of the principles and procedures of software engineering (e.g., SDLC, IEC 62304, Agile).
  • Experience with medical device software engineering disciplines (e.g., software development environments, configuration management tools, testing methods and test management tools).
  • Prior project management experience in the development of embedded software products
  • Prior experience with Infusion Pump Embedded/User Interface development is a plus.
  • Experience of structured product development processes; Experience with change control mechanisms
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with Agile methodologies or current Scrum Master certification.
