Summary:

Baxter is on a mission to modernize their global manufacturing locations through implementation of advanced automation and Industry 4.0 tools.  These tools are designed to improve our Operations’ productivity goals and enable our manufacturing sites to be smarter and leaner.

The Senior Manager of Digital Transformation is a critical role responsible for advancing and sustaining digital manufacturing and Industry 4.0 initiatives for Baxter’s Americas manufacturing network.

The successful candidate will be a thought process leader, possess exceptional customer engagement and strong program management skills, a passion for data, a quest for continuous improvement and knowledge of various leading Industry 4.0 tools such as IoT platforms, edge computing, AR / VR, AI / Machine Learning, AI Vision, etc. The candidate will bring excitement and energy for innovation, and a passion for their work and the impact it has on saving and sustaining the lives of patients.

This role will report to the Senior Director of Engineering & Strategy for the Americas Region.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with business, commercial, and IT leaders to drive progress for digital transformation initiatives
  • Strong partnership with global digital teams to advance / accelerate key strategic initiatives to create value in the manufacturing sites
  • Create Digital roadmap for the Americas manufacturing sites – What, when and how based on the manufacturing site’s maturity and readiness
  • Perform site assessments from an Infrastructure standpoint and organizational readiness and devise transformation plans in partnership with the regional and local site leadership team
  • Build, lead and mentor digital transformation team at local sites
  • Build partnership with Regional and Site Senior Leadership team
  • Provide a governance mechanism for the various initiatives at Regional and Site level
  • Serve as a Digital Transformation evangelist
  • Identify use cases to constantly improve operation metrics to attain global benchmarks and become the best in class
  • Manage monthly executive reporting on progress and business adoption
  • Drive benefit realization tracking and partner manufacturing sites to accelerate commitments or address gaps to plan
  • Lead a team from regional manufacturing sites

Qualifications:

  • 5-7+ years of experience in leading complex projects in a global manufacturing organization and a matrix environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Science. Advanced. Master’s degree in Business Management preferred
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and demonstrate effectiveness in task completion, decision-making, empowerment of others, problem solving and team leadership
  • Ability to operate in and facilitate cross-functional teams with minimal guidance
  • Ability to organize and present technical information and project plans with minimal assistance
  • Experience in or knowledge of complex manufacturing processes and supply chain planning and design
  • Lead / mentor a team of direct and indirect reports
  • Excellent team player and self-starter with excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Healthcare or other regulated industry experience in a manufacturing setting is strongly preferred.
  • Role will require 30% traveling
