Senior Engineer - Reliability

The Senior Engineer - Reliability will be working on the reliability verification of new medical devices such as infusion pumps, medical and health monitoring and sensors for both hospital and home applications.  

Responsibilities:

  • ​Plan, schedule, and lead project assignments using appropriate engineering techniques, processes, and methods with minimal guidance. 
  • Identify and define reliability related requirements from applicable product standards (collateral and particular).
  • Provide guidance to design teams in Reliability process execution using relevant methodologies, tools, and techniques.
  • Authors test plans, defines test equipment requirements, conducts tests, and issues test reports for design, analysis, and material property verification.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional resources (e.g. systems, hardware, Service, Mfg, Quality, etc.) involved in Reliability process activities.
  • Establishing reliability predictions, reliability testing, and post-market measurements.
  • Creates and communicates plans, tasks, deliverables and status. Manages time and resources to meet committed schedule milestones.
  • Develops and maintains an effective and corroborative working relationship with internal and external development partners. 
  • Leads the troubleshooting and problem solving efforts related to reliability aspects of devices and associated systems.
  • Support sustaining teams in Post Market events and Investigations.

Qualifications

  • Must possess strong engineering knowledge and experience in electromechanical disciplines and design principles and/or systems engineering knowledge.
  • Experience/expertise in the following areas: Design for Reliability planning and management, establishing Reliability Requirements & Goals, Reliability Prediction using Parts count & Parts stress method.
  • Hands-on instrumentation and data acquisition experience.
  • Test design, planning, execution, analysis, and report writing.
  • Understanding of test fixture design inputs and outputs and ability to communicate with third party vendors to design test fixtures for radiality deliverables.
  • Knowledge of statistical techniques, process, and methods, Knowledge of LabView, Excel, Minitab, etc.
  • Requires strong organization and polished communication skills (e.g., solid technical writing of analyses, reports, test protocols)
  • Able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel at multiple levels of the organization.
  • Able to work independently or with a cross-functional team.
