The Role

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Service Engineer in a 12 Month-FTC with strong views to permanency. In this role, you will be responsible for Installation, maintenance and service of all equipment based in our Service Centre or site of installation.  You will be delivering technical service goals as well as given capability to attend Work sites which include Service Centre, Hospitals and Clinics.

This position is based in our Orchard Hills Depot.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation, maintenance and service of all equipment, Baxter or otherwise, with the focus on Welch Allyn, Mortara and Hillrom products in the Service Centre (in some instances at the site of installation)

  • Ensure customer satisfaction in all aspects related to your duties with appropriate escalation to ensure proper action

  • Support maintenance or repair activities in the Field as required.

  • Provide first level phone and on-site technical support / troubleshooting for equipment

  • Responding to customer queries via email and over the phone

  • Prepare quotations to customers for equipment repair and evaluation for warranty repair

  • Maintain accurate machine details and service activities through database

  • Actively participate in the process of quality improvement, suggesting and implementing improvements

  • Deliver technical training to internal and external customers

  • Perform test equipment calibration and maintain required documentation

  • Ensures the overall business strategy is executed in all activities to deliver key financial targets inclusive of overall revenue, profitability and OPEX targets.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical TAFE or University Certificate, Diploma or Degree

  • Current Driver’s license

  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience working in Medical Device Technical Service and/or troubleshooting and diagnosing technical hardware and software problems in complex system and phone technical support

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstratable basic skill level in MS Office Suite of applications

  • Exception organizational and time management skills with the demonstrated ability to follow tasks through to completion

  • Able to work well under pressure

  • Knowledge of or ability to learn medical terminology and about medical devices

  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team to drive key results and foster collaborative work environments

  • Proven strong focus with a passion for delivering customer satisfaction
