Team Leader – Weekday Nightshift 11pm -7am

The Role

Baxter Healthcare is a leading manufacturer and supplier of healthcare products and services within the ANZ region. We are a fast-paced technology driven organisation that strives for excellence in all areas of operations.

We have a great opportunity for a Night Shift Team Leader to join our production team in a permanent position. You will be enthusiastic, highly motivated and well-rounded. The role is based at our Old Toongabbie campus and is reporting to the Production Manager. 

In this role you will be responsible for supporting the manufacturing operation in their respective department and the daily communications associated with manufacturing processes from both internal and/or external customers.         


Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain compliance to GMP standards and safety.

  • Ensure manufacturing filling lines are operating to maximum efficiency.

  • Organise rotation of staff in department.

  • Reviewing batch documentation is completedand updating any standard operating procedures.

  • Able to train Operators in quality checks and line setting

  • Operate as a back-up line operator and perform Quality checks within the electronic documentation systems.

  • Assist with machinery breakdowns.

  • Liaise with other departments including , but not limited to, Maintenance, Mix Room, other supervisors and record keepers.

  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment and report any issues to supervisorwhere necessary.

  • Perform correct line clearances during batch changes when scheduled

  • Incorporate EMS practices into daily routine.


Key Requirements of the role include:

  • Previous experience within a manufacturing facility food, pharma, or similar quality focused industry experience, highly advantageous

  • Prior leadership experience and initiative

  • Strong verbal and written communication

  • Experience and ability to conduct investigations and root cause analysis

  • Technical mindset and continuous improvement focus

  • Hands-on approach with supporting and working with the team

  • Mechanical/electrical or fitting experience, highly desirable

  • Proven ability to work with minimal supervision and high attention to detail

  • Reliable, punctual and flexible to work overtime if required

  • Policy & Procedures - Able to relate to routine operational procedures; comply with policies and procedures

  • Commitment to Task - Able to start and persist with specific courses of action while exhibiting high motivation and a sense of urgency.

  • Interaction - Able to communicate with others in a helpful manner while simultaneously building credibility and rapport.

  • Team Work - Able to work with people in such a manner as to build high morale and group commitments to goals and objectives

  • Decision Making & Problem Solving - Able to take action in solving problems using sound judgement
