To develop, implement and administrate all applicable environmental, health, safety (EHS) and Industrial Hygiene (IH) policies and programs. Responsible for site compliance with all federal, state and local environmental, health and safety (EHS) regulations. Provides technical support to quality, engineering, facilities, maintenance and warehousing operations. Our new state of the art facility will be in the Greater Memphis Area at the intersection of I269 and HWY 302. 5 minutes from Olive Branch MS and Collierville TN.We will be in full operations here by end of the year.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Execute the EHS&S Management System and compliance obligations for the location.
  • Manages the administration and implementation of EHS policies and programs.
  • Ensure compliance with EHS&S regulations and Baxter requirements; follows emerging EHS&S regulations and issues.
  • Proactively identify potential EHS hazards through risk assessments, Gemba walks, inspections, etc., and drive timely corrective actions.
  • Provide regulatory guidance and administration support on all EHS regulations.
  • Provide management assistance in setting goals and targets for all EHS programs having significant impact.
  • Develops relationships with other functions (e.g., maintenance, facilities) to ensure EHS&S aspects are considered at the beginning of new/changing operations and drives improvement existing EHS&S methods and techniques.
  • Provide assistance with pollution prevention and waste minimization activities.
  • Provide assistance in the negotiation and development of EHS service contracts.
  • Perform and/or assist in Industrial Hygiene monitoring.
  • Conduct facility management system internal audits.
  • Handle interactions with regulatory agencies.
  • Provide specialized training to Baxter employees.
  • Interview, hire, coach, motivate, develop, recognize and manage performance of direct reports.Provide regular feedback to all direct reports. Set performance objectives, support development plans and monitor progress. Manage site activities which impact areas of environmental and/or safety compliance with Federal, State, or Local regulations.
  • Provide non-routine problem solving.
  • Prepare and/or assist with composing agency (e.g. EPA), corporate and regional reports.
  • Lead site Emergency Response Team for hazardous materials spills and medical response.
  • Accomplishes EH&S results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Manages workers' compensation program including claims monitoring and administration, report generation, and communication with employees, managers, insurance carriers, medical staff for litigated/non-litigated claims.


  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as Corporate rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Must have deep knowledge of EPA, OSHA, and DOT regulations.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute short and long-term strategic plans.
  • Proven track record of interpersonal and leadership skills with ability to interface well with other departments and lead effectively and efficiently in a team environment.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret scientific, and statistical data.
  • Strong professional writing skills and ability to prepare technical reports.
  • Ability to clearly articulate information during regulatory/client inspections ·
  • Ability to understand GMPs and other applicable regulatory guidelines.
  • Strong assessment and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to respond to detailed inquiries and present information to groups and senior leaders.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to use enterprise software.
  • Ability to collect and analyze data and information to determine paths for process improvement and potential root cause.

  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills · Working knowledge of business acumen

Education and/or Experience

  • B.S. Degree in Environmental, Safety, Engineering or science related field required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience which should include leadership experience through direct supervision or indirect leadership roles.
