Summary

Responsible for providing Container Design support for medical products. Ensuring that products developed meet both internal and external customer requirements.

Based on project needs, the intervention mode will range from punctual on-demand interventions (ex: technical\quality documents edition, test campaign definition & supervision) to longer term integration within a project team or leading a cross functional project team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities.

  • Performs Container design work and research to contribute to the design of new and existing products in the field of different therapeutic areas. 
  • Actively participates on device project teams (as core or extended core team member) to ensure sound industrial container design principles are considered and implemented.
  • In partnership with other functional and Baxter R&D team members, develops product design and study layout that generate objective evidences that the proposed product meets user preferences for devices and user interfaces.
  • Follows Baxter’s Product Development and Lifecycle Management (PDLM) and related Baxter R&D policies, standards, and methodologies (DFSS, etc.).
  • Creates and communicates project plans, tasks and deliverables and manages time to meet project deadlines.
  • Effectively support suppliers and team members in the creation and implementation of sustaining engineering development.

Qualifications

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Relevant experience in product design development in medical products, and related therapy requirements
  • Good experience with statistical (Minitab) and Six Sigma (5 why's, fishbone diagram, DMAIC...) tools/methodologies is a plus
  • Good knowledge of Pharmaceutical regulations
  • Basic knowledge of Risk management process
  • High protocol & report, DHF documents writing competency
  • Able to formulate autonomously engineering studies (sampling plan, DoE...) of moderate complexity
  • Capable of developing specific technical skills and knowledge when required
  • Ability to apply with minimal assistance a diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in areas of assignments
  • Stay informed of state-of-the-art technical developments and trends in areas of technical expertise. Appropriately leverage SME knowledge to rapidly gain in experience and effectively reach project objectives.

LANGUAGE

  • Proficiency in oral and written English language is mandatory

IT SKILLS

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio, MS Project...)
  • Statistical analysis softwares is a plus (Minitab, WinSSD)

SOFT SKILLS

  • Ability to define the strategy and priority for a design project. 
  • Ability to work as a collaborative team member
  • Proven critical thinking and ability to solve routine technical problems in a systematic way with minimal assistance from senior staff.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate technical information (written & verbal) within project team
  • Actively identify new areas for learning. Proactively create and take advantage of learning opportunities for further implementation on container development activities
  • Creative and innovative mind

Education and/or Experience. 

  • Master’s degree in engineering, science
  • Typically, 1 to 5 years of relevant experience in product development (preferably in medical devices, pharma products)
