Position Overview

The Change Control Associate will be part of a team responsible for managing work within the global Supplier Notice of Change (SNC) process within Baxter Procurement and collaborating with all stakeholders: GBUs, procurement, manufacturing plants, Supplier Quality, and suppliers. The Change Control Associate will have the opportunity to contribute to the overall success of procurement organization. The ideal candidate will have strong logic skills, a keen ability to think critically and successfully manage multiple tasks.

This position will report to the Director of Supplier Development Engineering

Job Responsibilities

  • Review individual SNCs to determine level of change
  • Ability to carry out, complete and document change control process
  • Flag and communicate supplier changes that require pushback/cost sharing
  • Assist buyer and category manager in their management of SNC and cost recovery from suppliers
  • Author, consult with stakeholders and suppliers/vendors
  • Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities to meet change control timelines
  • Support change control and other activities to close administrative and minor SNCs
  • Transfer SNC activities for moderate and major changes to the appropriate owning Global Business Unit
  • Prepare/share performance reports/metrics for team
  • Recommend, and/or support ideas for improvements to Standard Work process for SNCs
  • Monitor disposition of supplier notification of change
  • Provide a proper escalation when there is misalignment between suppliers, SNC owners and R&D
  • Assess new supplier change requests to develop the overall project plan, including the project scope, impacted facilities, and products. Support SNC process from receipt of change from supplier until approved/closed. Work with global team members from Procurement, Supplier Quality, Engineering, and the Sustaining Product Organization. This includes support for all regions and global business units
  • Advocate the Risk-based Approach to resolving SNC projects
  • Resolve and escalate issues and questions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Biomedical, Mechanical or Electrical). Baxter product knowledge preferred
  • At least one year of experience in Quality, Engineering or Manufacturing related to pharma/medical device products desired.
  • Self-motivated, good interpersonal skills, experienced in analyzing problems and in driving high performance
  • Ability to understand the challenges of managing a schedule of multiple change controls and with the drive to complete them successfully.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously with compliance to Standard Operation Procedures and Regulatory requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management and co-workers
  • Prior experience in process development and implementation preferred

  • Professional, accurate, clear and concise verbal and written communication
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Attention to detail while moving projects forward with sense of urgency and speed
  • Resolution driven in timely manner; sense of urgency and speed
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, with Visio, Tableau, SharePoint preferred.
  • Demonstrated data drive, analytical, and fact-based approach to problem solving
  • Effective project management skills – with ability to deal with uncertainty and ambiguity
  • Change management, conflict management
