Position Summary
This position will function as the owner’s representation for utility systems impacted by or created by Major Capital Projects. This position will also be responsible for the successful transition of the completed utility systems projects into the day to day plant operation.
Job Responsibilities
- Site lead for electrical distribution systems with voltages including 110, 208, 480, 4160 and 12,470.
- Conducting safety and compliance audits of electrical installations
- Applying the standards and code principals to new and modified installations
- Leading special projects/initiatives to improve electrical safety and assist with other key electrical distribution improvement initiatives.
- Developing policy documents and standards
- Teaching electrical safety
- Serving as a consultant on electrical installation practices
- Serve as Electrical On-Call support during unplanned electrical events
- Leading and supporting multiple utility capital and maintenance expense projects of various sizes.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Extensive knowledge of electrical design/installation and electrical standards
- Must have good interpersonal, communication, and team skills. This position will interact with personnel in all organizations.
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
- Good collaboration and consultation skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously within budget and schedule
- Ability to compile and analyze complex data
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required related to client contact, documentation, and communication of results/recommendations.
- Ability to write new procedures or policies to support site electrical safety needs
- Strong customer focus, with demonstrated ability to solve complex issues or problems
- Knowledge of National Electric Code, NFPA70E, NFPA70 and other national consensus standards.
- Ability to train employees
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical installations or design in a manufacturing setting with broad understanding of operational needs and issues across the site.
