Summary:

  • The SSC Senior Manager responsible for day-to-day leadership and direction to finance transaction processing teams. Ensures performance that meets or exceeds service requirements.  The SSC Senior Manager participates in the financial support of the Business Units and the clusters/countries to manage and control costs. Reporting to the Regional Controller, the SSC Senior Manager executes on the regional priorities, deliver smooth accounting operations to the business, and ensures timely recording and reporting of the results of the operations.
  • The role requires understanding of complex accounting matters, quick problem-solving skills and strong collaboration with other finance and non-finance teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of Process managers and collaborate with cross functional SSC towers
  • Provide leadership in administration of all components of accounting transaction processing to ensure completeness, accuracy and timeliness of general ledger, accounts payable, intercompany, accounts receivable and external reporting.
  • Embedding a strong focus on cost reduction, service excellence and continuous improvement for all the services delivered by his/her organization using benchmarks and best practice comparisons
  • Implement recognized best practices into all areas of accounting processes and service delivery
  • Control costs by managing the overall budget, monitoring savings objectives, reviewing all standardization and automation initiatives to meet the goals
  • Ensure proper internal controls are in place and maintained and coordinate audit and compliance activities
  • Manage customer problem resolution and escalation within the Region and local country operations
  • Manage improvement programs across the processes within A2R and collaborate with cross functional towers in SSC to deliver on accurate and timely reporting of financial results
  • Maintain strong internal customer relationships to ensure the immediate resolution of problems as well as being responsive to future needs.
  • Support regional and global reporting requirements on revenues for all areas under Regional Controllership responsibility (e.g., monthly B/S and P&L Flux reviews)
  • Support monthly/quarterly/annual close processes and work closely with Regional Controllership teams.
  • Ensure adherence of processes to company's policies and procedures, internal and external audit requirements and local rules and regulations; support strengthening of financial processes and controls
  • Support local, regional, and global projects, as required
  • Maintain focus on continuous process improvement

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Proven experience in a multinational environment and/or audit.
  • Good knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, diplomatic, flexible and “can do” mind-set.
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English.
  • Strong reporting tools including MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or part qualified ACCA/CIMA.
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally as required.
  • Experience in JDE, Blackline and W-Desk is an advantage.
  • Additional hours at critical times (e.g., month-end) may be required. Also, and on an exceptional basis, the role may require work on public holidays.
