PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
As the Cost Accounting Manager, you will direct and support the development and configuration of product cost
structures resulting in:
• Accurate inventory valuation according to GAAP across all legal entities and SAP ERP platforms
• Structured management P/L’s for Commercial COGS, Operations and Allocations.
• Enhanced overall product cost capabilities
• Enabled accurate product margin visibility
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
· Plan, organize and direct all the activities of the inventory valuation function
· Manage day to day operations of the existing inventory valuation function from management of current
rates to monthly close and analysis
· Development and maintenance of standard costs
· Perform the monthly closing activities for inventory and functional support
· Proactive analysis of costs and communication of issues and opportunities to operations management for
margin improvement
· Define policies and procedures for all inventory valuation activities
· Manage reserves for inventory
· Role expects to be able to coordinate cross functional resources and knowledge to achieve desired
objective
· Regular interaction (weekly/daily) with the rest of the Ops finance leadership. This includes providing key
feedback on processes, expertise on both cost accounting & Operations
· Role plays a key leadership role in Hillrom product costing organization and expected to drive process
excellence and helping to set direction for improvements in the function.
· Role is expected to possess the end to end view of product costing part of SAP. To be effective in the role,
it requires adequate SAP & financial system knowledge, operational and financial acumen to drive value
· Other duties may be assigned
REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field or local equivalent
· Minimum 8+ years of Finance & Accounting experience
· Strong analytical, problem solving, and computer skills (SAP, MS Office)
