Position Summary

  • Evaluate health economic trends (efficiencies, effectiveness, value, behavior), data and market dynamics (constituents, influencers, competitors) to deliver insights which contribute to the development of health economics value creation strategies for the US Advanced Surgery go-to- market plan

  • Key constituent on a broad-based team (i.e., IDN, Sales Managers, Marketing, and Medical Affairs) which provides consultative selling approaches to economic decision makers across key health system stakeholders

Critical Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with US Sales and Baxter Strategic Accounts team to disseminate Health Economic evidence and outcome insights, modeling the total economic, operational, and clinical value of Advanced Surgery products to targeted health systems & GPO decision markers

  • Leverage available data/insights to develop messaging for: C-suite, Supply Chain, and OR Directors which focuses on the economic, operational, and clinical value of Advanced Surgery products

  • Perform evidence-based analysis for healthcare organizations by measuring, managing, and analyzing EMR data to help customers make more effective and efficient economic, operational, and clinical decisions

  • Turn customer EMR data into actionable information the field team can use to target HCPs and demonstrate the total value of the Advanced Surgery portfolio offering, including development of procedure based “formularies” that can help to optimize spend for hospital systems

  • Understand the landscape and incentive structure for GPO consultants, develop relationships with them and devise strategies that best position our value offering and product portfolio relative to the value points for GPO consultants and their customers

  • Work with field sales on regional health economic market assessments to appropriately identify stakeholder barriers, trends, customer unmet needs, competitive HEOR positioning, and strategic insights

  • Partner with the Advanced Surgery pricing office to develop risk share opportunities for customers that incentivize conversion and help customers optimize spend

  • Partner with US Sales to target and position the Advanced Surgery Advantage program and associated offerings to customers to educate and demonstrate partnership and value beyond our product offerings

  • Develop and grow key senior health system administrator relationships and potential partnerships via strategic economic and analytical insights

  • Partner with Advanced Surgery Performance Excellence team to train the sales and marketing teams on all approved economic evidence-based data and messaging

Key Qualifications/Experiences

  • Extensive broad-based experiences and knowledge in US provider/physician/policy and payor challenges and trends, health systems, hospital OR settings, clinical literature, health economic strategies and clinical & economic selling tactics

  • Considerable experience and comfort presenting and defending evidence with senior clinical and economic decision markers in meetings

  • Ability to analyze significant amounts of data and leverage strong critical thinking skills to identify key insights and develop recommendations

  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Must be able to travel up to 25%

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10 + years’ experience or an advanced degree with experience in market access, health economics, marketing, or sales. Healthcare economics, medical device or hospital/health system industry experience is required
