What you'll be doing
- Represents Technical Services during new product development and sustaining activities
- Drives and champions Design for Serviceability (DFS) and Design for Service Revenue within product core teams
- Builds, reviews, and approves service deliverables throughout the product lifecycle for medical device products/systems
- Works closely with multi-functional team members to develop and launch products/systems that enable a service strategy and associated service offerings
- Analyze product/system and operational metrics data to seek opportunities for improvement while crafting robust cases to pursue them
- Develop global service plans for new product platform releases. Leads plan implementation for service training, test equipment, and tool installation/validation, spare parts, and service manuals/instructions
- Partner closely with Marketing, Manufacturing, Sales, Quality, R&D, and Global Service Operations to achieve product line objectives
- Independently plans, schedules, and leads teams in detailed phases of the engineering work in a project
- May supervise/coordinate Engineers or Technicians on assigned work or projects
What you'll bring
- B.S. in Engineering (Information Technology, Systems, Biomedical, and Electrical preferred, Manufacturing/Industrial and Mechanical considered) and 5 + years related experience. Advanced degree (M.S. or MBA) with 3+ years
- Experience with digital products and IT/connectivity expertise strongly preferred. ITIL certification is a plus
- Strong understanding of design control methodologies
- Proven background in Information Technology standard methodologies (VMs, hubs, networking)
- Firm grasp of GMP and quality system requirements. Medical device or other regulated industry experience strongly preferred
- Validated process optimization and analytical skills (e.g. Lean Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping)
- Proficient in core engineering disciplines, specifically software/systems engineering, configuration management, and information technology with the ability to understand other engineering focus areas (e.g. biomedical, mechanical, electrical)
We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a base salary range of $68,000 to $156,000 plus an annual incentive bonus. The above range represents the expected base salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location.
