Summary:

This position will provide expert knowledge on improving field HD understanding in general with heavy focus on leading new product launches, customer targeting and effective value proposition development/deployment.

Responsible for driving the Hemodialysis (HD) sales performance effectiveness and efficiency of the Portfolio Manager Team.

  • Partners with Sales Leadership (RMs, ASDs, VP of Sales, SA, etc.) and functional areas (Marketing, Sales training, R&D etc.) to align business priorities of the U.S. Renal Commercial Team.  This may include temporary focus on individual product launches (ie. HDx, AK98 etc.) or focus on overall HD portfolio optimization.
  • Acts as key communication link between the Portfolio Manager (PM)/ Region Manager (RM) Team and Senior Sales and Marketing Management in HD matters.
  • Develops, validates, delivers and/or manages field and customer training programs with related activities in support of HD therapy growth.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This position will initially report directly to the VP of Sales and may be assigned/ duplicated in area/ ASD supportive roles later.  The focus will be on establishing strategic guidance to RMs/PMs with new product launches and all things related to HD. This HD Therapy Specialist, will have input with regards to the HD performance evaluations in coordination with the corresponding Regional Manager.         

  • Develop & lead HD strategic initiatives for new product launches in US for field based PM Team and assist in developing appropriate support structure as needed.
  • Support Sales, Marketing, Product and Clinical Activities.  Ensure quality product training and in-servicing, customer relationship development and management, and overall HD sales effectiveness of the PM Team.     
  • Ensure all in-servicing/training sessions are well planned and executed – following training guidelines as outlined by Ad Prom, Region Manager, and the Marketing team. 
  • Analyze current value proposition and workflow processes, including new product launches, for critical areas within HD and recommend/ implement the necessary changes/improvements.
  • Develop and track the critical HD metrics, including developing reporting tool for each area to report to upper management.
  • Maintain and manage timely and professional written and verbal communications with senior management.
  • Maintains a functional knowledge of disease states and therapies in relevant therapeutic areas for the Renal Business.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a track record of success in leading teams/customers through role transitions and devising and executing clinical and sales initiatives. 
  • Proven track record of sales performance/ other metrics driven quotas and meeting requirements on consistent basis.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across many roles on clinical and sales projects and programs.  Experience with stakeholder management, plan development and matrix management are key.
  • Understanding of US Renal’s overall business, goals, strategies and objectives in order to ensure programs are aligned with those needs.
  • Solid knowledge of the medical/therapeutic impact of Baxter products and potential product applications.
  • Excellent presentation skills; ability to present programs and strategies to a variety of senior and cross functional audiences.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written; communicating with external and internal audiences.
  • Highly motivated, cooperative, timely and exhibit initiative and foresight to ensure collaboration across various functional units.
  • Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated track record of influencing others and effectively working in cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent time management skills; ability to focus on multiple issues/tasks at one time; ability to organize and direct diverse activities in a changing environment often under time pressure.
  • Demonstrate exceptional follow-through with assigned tasks, and be self-motivated.
  • Ability to use Business Applications including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree,
  • Minimum of 6+ years Dialysis experience.
  • 3+ years of Leadership experience.
  • Proven track record of consistently achieving sales/metric driven results required.
